Introduction
Agilent Technologies, like other companies in the electronics
industry, will begin following the European Union (EU) directive
on Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in products,
along with similar environmental regulations. Therefore it is
imperative that each of our suppliers provide all the information
requested on the parts currently being sold to Agilent
Technologies or pending sourcing decision.
Introduction – continued
Agilent is using MatrixOne’s Compliance ConnectTM, reporting Tool (a Microsoft Excel-based data collection spreadsheet) to collect material disclosure from our suppliers. Compliance ConnectTM has become a widely-used industry solution for collecting material disclosure information to meet this requirement.
You will help ensure the accuracy of your data by adhering to
the reporting structure of the Compliance ConnectTM Tool,
which will be explained in this document
Completion of the report and submission to Agilent constitutes a
testament that all the information is true and correct to the best
of the supplier’s knowledge

IMPORTANT! README FIRST!
Use of Agilent Compliance Connect for fulfilling Material
Declaration Requests from Agilent Technologies
• Agilent Compliance Connect is a custom version of the Enovia application. It includes key
data validation checks for you and Agilent. PLEASE USE our version of Compliance Connect
known as “Agilent Compliance Connect” (ACC).
• It is very important that you import the provided pre-populate file into Agilent Compliance
Connect, as it contains your supplier identification number and company name the way Agilent
recognizes your company in our compliance system. In addition, it also contains OTHER KEY
DATA that is necessary for our processing. Failure to use the PRE-POPULATE FILE AS
PROVIDED may result in processing issues after return to Agilent Technologies and thus
additional rework.
• Please return only the exported XML file (ending in .agmcc) to the Agilent requestor’s email
address Please do not return the 6.7MB Agilent Compliance Connect Template!
• Agilent Technologies can only accept .agmcc file extensions, exported from Agilent
Compliance Connect
• Files ending in .cxs, .cxe, .xls and others cannot be accepted without prior arrangement with
the requestor.

Gray Tabs
The pale gray colored tabs (there are two of them) provide
for Agilent’s administration of its functional attributes and
utilities for managing data import and export. These are
protected fields.
There are only two functions you will use on the Utilities
tab, the other two are protected, and provide for Agilent’s
administration of substances and RoHS exemptions You will use the Import
button to import a pre-
populated text file.
The Export button is for
your optional use, but is not
to be used for making a
Declaration

concerning board mountable components, e.g. Terminal Plating
These fields are also protected, and only administered by Agilent
Technologies
Green Tabs
These tabs contain examples of how the data entry tabs are filled-out.
The pale gray tabs just to the right of the green tabs, contain context

Making a Material DeclarationEntering Data Step 1: General Tab Example
Note that if you select Full Declaration = Y, the Part Tree tab is activated.
This is Agilent Technologies preferred declaration if you can provide full
substance composition down to the homogenous level.
If you select Full Declaration = N, the Partial Declaration tab is activated.
This allows for a basic IPC1752 Class 1 declaration of RoHS Yes/No or
Yes with an Exemption.

Making a Material DeclarationEntering Data Step 2: Full or Partial Declaration
If Submitting Partial Declaration:
Fill out the Partial Declaration tab. This contains information about each
saleable part (each part you sell to the company that sent this spreadsheet to
you). You are responsible to enter if your part is RoHS compliant and also
enter any applicable exemptions. Skip to Step 5
If Submitting a Full Declaration:
Fill out the Part Tree tab. This contains information about each saleable part
(each part you sell to the company that sent this spreadsheet to you). You
are responsible for supplying the part tree (I.e., Bill of Materials) for each
saleable part. Click the "Overall Help“ button on the Part Tree tab for
detailed instructions. Use the "Check Part Tree Data" button to verify that all
required information has been entered correctly.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You cannot mix partial and full material
declarations in a single Declaration! They must be either all
FULL or all PARTIAL for the reported parts!
Making a Material DeclarationEntering Data Step 2: Partial Declaration Example
Please Do Not Select “N/A” as
one of the exemptions on a
Partial Declaration!
Making a Material DeclarationCopy and Paste of Data from other Sources
• Copy value from anywhere. Double-click on the Excel
cell. Wait until cursor appears inside the cell & then
paste.
• Or, Turn-off Auto-validation before pasting
in data. Multiple cells can be pasted, for example all
weights in Column I can be pasted in one step.
