Activity #4: Instructions

1. One participant role plays being a child building with blocks. Follow directions on the child’s role play sheet.

2. Select a facilitator for your table.

3. Table participants observe child playing with blocks.

4. Discuss and decide on the child’s stage of block play.

5. Discuss and decide on the child’s language level and the CLASS language modeling strategy to use.

6. Take turns interacting with this child focusing on one of the Foundations listed.

7. Continue until table participants have used all five of the Foundations listed.
