BACKGROUND
After a visit to Our Pal’s Place animal shelter in Marietta, 10-year-old Girl Scout OliviaDeAmicis and fellow members of her Atlanta-based Girl Scout troop #2910 petitioned SolidGold Pet Food’s CEO, Bob Rubin, to ensure a supply of top-quality dog food for the shelter’spets.
On a mission to earn her Bronze Merit Badge, Olivia was volunteering with her Girl Scout troopat Our Pal’s Place animal shelter when she realized that the food the shelter’s animals receivedwas not the same as what her family fed their pets at home. Through on-going appeals,Olivia’s efforts resulted in a year’s supply of pet food for Marietta-based Our Pal’s Place animalshelter and a Bronze Merit Badge for the young ladies of Troop #2910.
The young ladies of the Troop are: Annelise Antrobus, Samantha Carlsen, Megan Cormier,Olivia DeAmicis, Jillian Green, Kate Halfon, Jessica Holmes, Betsy Jarosick, and Kelly Keith. The Troop leaders are Melissa Carlsen and Robin Keith.
