Learning objective #1: Understand perspectives in and demonstrate best practices in child development work.

Learning activities: Learn and demonstrate the YMCA’s core values

Seeks first to understand the child’s point of view, and remains calm in challenging situations

Takes initiative to assist in developing others

Strives to enrich their YMCA experience by introducing them to new programs and staff members

LEARNING OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES

Learning objective #2: Facilitate active play activities to develop healthy kids on a weekly basis.

Learning activities: Strives to meet or exceed goals and deliver a high-value

experience for children

Establishes goald, clarifies tasks, plans work and actively participates

Organize activities as needed and assist other staff as necessary

Posses the knowledge and skills needed to instruct in program activites

LEARNING OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES

Learning objective#3: Develop and build trusting and appropriate relationships with children regularly using the polies and procedures learned through organizational trainings and daily practical use.

Learning activities: Build rapport and relates well to the children

Listens for understanding and meaning

Works effectively with children of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions

NEWADVENTURE

I am really excited to have a new journey this summer. I am excited to see what this practicum experience has in store for me. Most of all it has been a dream to work with children and be a positive influence in their life and development.
