Transcript of Ag energy

Wind energy is energy from wind turbines.

turbines move to where the wind is facing it also moves at the speed the wind is blowing.

The wind turns the wind turbines and generates electricity.

The turbines are able to be seen a little at night it has a blinking red light.

Solar energy is energy from the sun! Solar panels produces energy and

move them to our houses, jobs, schools etc.

The sun is responsible for all energy. With out solar energy (or energy from

the sun) it would be very hard for farmers to grow plants.

Hydroelectricity is the term referring to electricity generated by hydropower.

Hydropower is the gravitational force of falling or flowing water.

Hydroelectricity is the most used renewable energy.

Geothermal energy is thermal energy generated and stored in the Earth.

Worldwide, about 10,715 megawatts (MW) of geothermal in 24 countries power is online.

The Greek roots geo, meaning earth, and thermal, meaning heat is the meaning of geothermal.

The heat that is used for geothermal energy can be stored deep within the Earth, all the way down to the Earth’s core 4,000 miles down.

The Earth’s geothermal energy is used to turn an electric turbine to generate electricity.

Biofuels is a type of fuel whose energy is derived from biological fixation(a biochemical process, usually driven by photosynthesis, whereby carbon dioxide is converted into organic compounds).

Biodiesel is made from vegetable oils and animal fats.

In 2010 worldwide biofuel production reached 105 billion liters (28 billion gallons), up 17% from 2009, and biofuels provided 2.7% of the world's fuels for road transportation.
