The Allied victory in World War I did not put an end to conflict either at home or abroad. European hostility to Wilson’s peace plan was matched by domestic hostility due to economic issues and other problems.

Points, League of Nations; European allies wanted to punish Germany, divide up conquered lands among conquerors; Senate did not want entanglement in League of Nations

Results: no one satisfied in Europe and Senate rejected treaty

Results: business activity slows, farmers especially hurt
