This animal is a mammal. This animal typically lives for 12 -16 years. Size of this animal of 1.2 meters. About 30,000-35,000 African lions remain in
the wild today. Numbers have plummeted by around 30 in the past 20 years , and over 40 of their key populations are in decline.
Basic facts
HABITAT
The African lions live in African because they were born in Africa and that’s also why their called African lions. Lions live in a range of habitats
-from open wood land ,grass land ,and deserts.
Diet The African lions are
carnivores. They only eat meat They eat zebras ,
giraffe, buffalo, wild hogs, and impala. Maybe sometimes rhinos and hippos.
A lion is a carnivore it only eats meat. Lions are at the top of their food chain,
and at the very center of their food web. Lions have almost no predators. They are
the top predator in any habitat.
Place In The Food Chain
African Lions don’t have as much land as they
used to have. People are cutting down trees to make room for houses. This is destroying lion habitats and reducing their natural prey numbers. Lions are living outside their protected area.
