– The AAF was strongest in the 1980’s and early 1990’s,

producing some concern in neighboring countries

– Future training will take place at Shindand Air Base in

Western Afghanistan

– In the 1960’s and the 1990’s the Afghan Military in

general received weapons from the Soviet Union
