About the Course Fazaia Teacher’s Training Institute (TTI) had specially designed a

course held on 15-19 June , 2015. Course objectives were:-1. To develop understanding of teaching students about historical

and physical surroundings2. Use their knowledge and skills to become informed citizens3. Use of variety of teaching methods to deliver subject specific

contents in classrooms4. Make teachers conscious of the need of affective language as

an important component of teaching Social studies5. Repair viable instruction material that would serve as an

essential Aids to clarify the concepts of students6. Talk wisely about the important issues happening in the country

How to explain the geography?

It is difficult to explain graphs, maps and different types of lands to students. We can explain it with the help of charts with pictures of different types of land like forest , desert, sea etc.

Visualize is to imagine, or to paint a picture of something in your mind, or to make something visible

Example:We can dramatized the important incidents of history by involving the students, which will help them to remember the small details of the incidents.

Visualizing

The ability to learn, judge or make decisions.

Rhyming Students are interested in listening rhymes, so this technique

can be applied to make them remember history facts easily.

Story TellingExample:In order to explain the path of River Indus, we can use the technique of story telling. We can tell different stories about the caliphs and kings.

AcronymAn acronym is an abbreviation formed from the initial components in a phrase or a word. Acronyms can be very helpful in learning long phrases because they are easier to write and remember.Examples:1. DIY: Do It Yourself2. BC: Before Crist3.
