The work started in the form of meetings and discussions about the subjects like

drugs, violence and improving job prospects.

It was created in 1999 by Aírton, Jackson Alves and Fábio Guedes and the main aim of this

association was to provide information, professional capability and digital inclusion to

the needy communities in Brazil.

Jackson and Fabio were only 14 years old when they decided to invest in this

initiative. The first donation of 3 computers was

kindly accepted from an IT company, this enabled them to operate from their own

homes

The initial course trained 12 people and was a great success in the area.

As the project became more successful each day, more people wanted to apply for it. The Association needed to arrange for bigger

premises to accommodate for future growth.

The new location allowed the volunteers to provide their services to more than 500 people per month.

Today the Association has more than 40 computers divided

between the 4 working units.

In 10 years the Association has trained more than 2.000 people.

Our student age varies between 14 years old to 60 years old.

The majority of our candidates have a big social problem in their lives, the main goal of AFAI is to help them to achieve their goals.
