THREE PRINCIPLES OF PROFESSIONAL CLEANING

Clean from top to bottom (clean highest surfaces first, moving dirt down).

Clean from dry to wet (remove dry soils before wet cleaning).

Clean in a pattern (any pattern is fine, back to front/left to right, etc. - establishing a pattern allows for more consistent and complete cleaning).

CHEMICAL SAFETY IS NO ACCIDENT

Always use the right product & procedure for the cleaning task at hand.

Never mix different chemicals / cleaning products.

Read and understand chemical SDS sheets (Safety Data Sheet).

Good custodial practices are important because the first person affected by a dirty environment is the one doing the cleaning.

Just because “I’ve always done it this way” is no reason to continue.
