Speech Showcasea dress rehearsal and a way for the different groups to see each other perform. “Many of the students involved in speech never get a chance to see one another perform-this way, they can,” English teacher Lisa Streif said. Streif is a speech coach along with Scott Davidson and Laura Travagiakis, who do not teach at Xavier.
The students use the Speech Showcase as a way to prepare for Districts. At Districts, performers get the chance to qualify for State. “Speech helps build my confidence in front of a crowd,” junior Hannah Becker said.
Xavier Speech will be going to Monticello for Districts on Saturday, January 19.
