IntroductionOur Girls Advocacy Centre will be established

in Ndhiwa a rural town in Homa Bay County

where 60 of people live in extreme poverty

and which has the highest HIVAIDS rate in

Kenya

Sadly gender discrimination and inequality is

rampant Teenage girls are vulnerable to pros-

titution early marriage polygamy wife inheri-

tance and violence These challenges restrict

the roles that girls play in Kenyan society which

in turn holds back socio-economic progress

In Kenya fantastic young women brimming

with potential are held back because of

exploitation discrimination and lack of under-

standing We are committed to helping young

women to get the support and assistance to

face these challenges so they become the

empowered people that they deserve to beand their society needs them to be
