Department of Computer ApplicationsThe Department of Computer Applications, Chitkara University Punjab offers MCA and BCA programmes. The department was established in year 2006. The primary objective of this program is to provide a foundation of computing principles and business practices for effectively using information systems and enterprise software systems. The department provides students with options to specialize in legacy application software, system software or mobile applications.

CSI REGIONAL STUDENT CONVENTION REGION-1The CSI student branch at Chitkara University Punjab was established in 2013. Since then, it has organised many events like Symposium, Workshops, Expert lectures and Quiz etc. keeps a good track record under the CSI Student chapter. The Department has organized CSI Punjab State Student Convention on March 3-4 2017.In 52th Annual Convention of Computer Society Of India (CSI-2017), CSI Student Chapter Department of Computer Applications, Chitkara University received ”CSI Best Accredited Student Branch Award, Region-1”.

CSI Regional Convention Region-I is a regional level technical fest organized by Department of Computer Applications, Chitkara University. It is a unique technical event of CSI Students which aims to provide a professional platform for students of various domains of engineering to showcase their talent.

Computer Society of IndiaComputer Society of India ( CSI) is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals.The Computer Society of India is a non-profit professional society and meet to exchange views and information learn and share ideas. The wide spectrum of members is committed to the advancement of theory and practice of Computer Engineering and Technology Systems, Science and Engineering, Information Processing and related Arts and Sciences.

General Rules:1. Participants have to bring their institute's original ID Card and CSI Card (for CSI members) during the event.2. Participants have to report 15 minutes before the starting of event for the Registration.3. Participants should maintain discipline and decorum.4. Late entry in the competition is not allowed.5. Use of cellphones and calculator are prohibited.6. No extra time will be given for competition.7. Chitkara University will not be responsible for any kind of asset loss.8. Chitkara University reserves all rights to change rules and regulations without prior notice.
