Rock-n-Row Adventures has been attract-ing tubing and camping enthusiasts to the Eldora/Pine Lake area since 1994.

Easily found in north central Iowa at the junc-tion of Hwy 175 and the Iowa River, not much more than two to three hours from any major city in Iowa. We are the original, largest and most popular tubing resort in the central mid-west. The Rock-n-Row Campground and River is a PG-13 atmosphere with ages ranging from 5 to 75 years. A large percentage of these fun-loving people have been with us for a number of years, so we are one big, happy family. Some of the highlights of Rock-n-Row Adventures include tubing and camping, of course, campfire cooking, live rock bands, DJs, bikini con-tests, volleyball, beer pong, flippie cup, bag toss, frisbee games, bike trails and a state-ranked nine-hole golf course located just up the road two miles. Electrical hook-ups go very fast, so make your reservations early. We run a kid’s special during the Iowa State Fair. August is a good time for the kids to go on a tubing adventure. The water is lower and slower, allowing the smaller kids to explore and find the treasures of the river. This weekend also tends to be appealing to the grandparents as well. They like to party a little, too. On average, a tubing adventure takes three to four hours. We shuttle your group up river, and you float back down to the Rock-n-Row campground. There is no catching another bus, and you may stay out on the river as long as you like but you should be back before night fall. The band will play from 7-11 p.m. Advance reservations are rec-ommended. Please call for information or to make a reservation 641-751-3418. Visit our website at www.rock-n-row-adventures.com.

CITYVIEW

A long, long time ago, in a small valley in the middle of the new state of Iowa was soon

to be the community of Dale. It was a vision that the founder had, as he crested the hill on his horse where the now present intersection of Wagon Wheel Road and 285th Street exists. As he looked into the valley, he saw a river for power and water, lush hills of natural grasses and timber to build. “This is where the new Lonsdale Woolen Mill will be,” he decided, pointing to the west, down in the val-ley and proclaiming to his Ohio part-ner Mr. France.

As a visionary, an entrepreneur must see those things that be not, as though they were, just as John Lons-dale had in the 1860s. That continues, as his great, great, great, granddaugh-ter continues the vision, by using the one-room schoolhouse he had built as a tasting room and gift shop for their award-winning wines from Dale Val-ley Vineyard and Winery.

Though we are small, we define our products by listening to our cus-tomers and fashioning wines around their pallettes.

Please take a moment and cel-ebrate the wonderful unspoiled land-scape — beautiful vistas that John recognized more than 150 years ago — and delight in his granddaughter’s wines.

We are small, but our hearts are as big as the vistas you will experience.

Amenities that we provide include: ample parking, covered and conditioned space, many options for events small or large, wed-ding showers to anniversary parties, seating hundreds. Relaxing views facing the western Iowa sky. Spend an afternoon where you can forget time. The only missing piece to this setting is you and your good friends.

Want to visit Germany? Travel to Europe without a passport in western Iowa. You will find the German Hausbarn in Manning to be an adventure 350 years in the past. The Hausbarn was built in northern Germany in 1660. After being shipped

to Manning and reconstructed to its origi-nal state, it sits in a natural setting near an early 1900s farmstead that is on the National Register of Historic Places. The 100-year-old Trinity Church, in the park, is a piece of peace in the cornfields. Come visit and cel-ebrate our history, along with many festivals throughout the year.
