What a wondrous time is spring-when all the trees are

budding.

The birds begin to sing, the flowers start their blooming;

That’s how it is with God’s love, once you’ve experienced it:

You want to sing, it’s fresh like spring, you want to pass it

on.

From hymn “Pass It On”

Pastor's Message for the Month . . .

After a bleek and cold winter how much we look forward to the coming of Spring. We look to the warmth and the signs of new life. We can appreciate the beauty of Spring all the more when contrasting it with the dreariness of winter.

Just as we appreciate Spring more with the contrast with Winter, so too our celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord is more joyous and compete when we have experienced the 40 days of Lent and the events of Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Having experienced our Lord’s suffering and death, how much more we can rejoice in his rising to new life.

Join with us as we prepare to move into Holy Week and then celebrate the triumphant Resurrection of Jesus. Even as we look forward to the new life of the Spring season, how much more we celebrate the new life which is ours through the Risen Lord. May you enjoy both the warmth of Spring and the joy of Easter.

Come and worship with us!

Yours in the joy of the Resurrection, Pastor Sorcek

FINANCIAL REPORT

On behalf of the Finance Committee members, thanks for your continued generosity! As was discussed during the recent congregational meeting on February 26, your fantastic response to our appeal at the end of 2016 enabled us to overcome a large calendar year deficit. Thank you! Your regular offerings, whether or not you’re able to attend weekly services, provides us with the cash flow needed to pay our regular operating expenses, and they enable us to maintain all of the ministries offered at Advent. We’re good stewards of your offerings and you’re truly making a difference in people’s lives by your financial gifts throughout the year. Tony Gryszka Finance Committee member
