accredited AMCA Air Test Chamber, as well as at
Bess Lab. When creating the Magnum 58”
Exhaust Fan, it was our goal to be the best fan in the world. We researched our competitor’s
fans’ performance data and the results are in.
The Magnum 58” Exhaust Fan exceeded Bess
Lab’s testing capabilities at 0.0”SP – 0.10”SP. We
then put our fan in an AMCA accredited Air Test
Chamber, so we could get some kind of idea what
the Magnum 58” Exhaust Fan can do outside of
Bess Lab’s testing capabilities. Our CFM blows all

Magnum 58” Exhaust FanThe Magnum 58” Exhaust Fan uses a maintenance free direct drive permanent magnet motor. It eliminates the need for greasing
bearings and changing belts. The housing is made of strong poly while the frame is all stainless-steel preventing rust and
corrosion in any environment. The complete fan includes durable poly damper doors that seal out air and light when closed.
The Magnum 58” Fan is designed to operate in the full range from minimum ventilation to maximum power using basic 0-10 volt
control signal which eliminates the need for smaller fans. Because of the high performance of the Magnum 58”, you’ll use 25%
fewer fans on your next project making it your most economical choice.

The Magnum 58” Exhaust Fan is easy to assemble, and it’s
packaged in such a way to reduce shipping costs. You can get
up to 64 fans per truckload. When ordered in large quantities
and bulk packaged, get even more fans per truckload!
When ordering 64 fans or less, each fan will come in it’s own
individual box, knocked down. This makes installation a breeze
by having all pieces and hardware in one location for each fan.

rough opening and flush with the interior of the building.

With advances in technology come advances in ventilation. As the costs of
technology have come down, it has made it more reasonable to utilize these
technologies in ag ventilation. As the technology advancements sweep through
the agriculture, horticulture, and commercial/industrial markets, J&D wants to
make sure you know what a permanent magnet motor is and the advantages of
this type of motor so you can make the best decision for your operation
Permanent Magnet (PM)Instead of using windings on its rotor, a PM motor uses permanent magnets, meaning the rotor is
magnetized already. J&D’s PM motors are driver integrated and efficient. Because they are driver
integrated, soft starts are ‘included’. You do not need a VFD on a PM motor. They are easy to speed
control and it runs at a constant speed regardless of load. Our PM Motor also comes with surge start.
For the first 10 seconds the fan will run at full power. This is so the damper doors will come open on the
Magnum fan. After the surge start, the fan will run at the speed in which you want it to run. There are
three ways to control the PM motor, 0-10 volts, 4-20 mA, and manual on/off. We can use this efficient
type of motor with our largest fans. We consider the PM motor the best motor for your operation.

What is a Permanent Magnet (PM) Motor?
Advantages of PM Motors1. Precise and Consistent Variable Speed Control Regardless of static pressure, wind, and other environmental
variables, the motor will run at a constant speed. More or less
power will be applied to the motor so outside factors do not
compromise set speeds.
2. Maintenance Free No belts, pulleys, tensioners, bearings or gears! Don’t spend time
changing belts, or lubricating bearings. Just set it and forget it.
3. Extremely Efficient PM motors run cooler to the touch and will not overheat and
burn out. When running at lower speeds, the energy efficiency
actually increases, effectively saving on energy costs.
4. Increased Motor Longevity Because of the PM motor’s lack of moving parts, there is a
lot less parts that will wear over time. The motor runs cool,
also increasing longevity.
5. Less Fans With speed control capabilities, you won’t have to have
a combination of fan sizes to operate minimum winter
ventilation and maximum summer ventilation. The PM
motor allows you do to both with the same fan. Purchasing
additional smaller fans is not needed.
