In the late 1980s, managing director Tony Sutcliffe formed AS System Building Services to provide installation and maintenance services to the modular building industry, building on the experience he had gained whilst he was works manager at Austin Hall Modular in Huddersfield. When the opportunity arose to purchase some land in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, it was a natural progression for us to move into the manufacture and supply of modular buildings direct to the end user and thus Elite Systems GB Ltd was incorporated in 1991. This provided us with the opportunity to build on what we had learned from installing many buildings over the years and offer the client a better solution than what was previously available. We are still located at the same premises in West Yorkshire but our client base has grown so much that we can now offer the same quality and value for money buildings across the whole of the United Kingdom.

Modular buildings are known for their versatility, with the capability to be fashioned into simple, single storey buildings, to more complex multi-storey configurations – but this design and construction flexibility is only one of the many benefits they offer.

Suitable for almost any environment or purpose, the manufacturing process of modular buildings brings a range of cost and time advantages. Because they’re constructed off-site, building in the factory can begin at the same time as groundworks and other preparations are being carried out.

Why gomodular?Controlled construction, consistent quality.

Other key benefits of modular construction include:

- Customise interiors and exteriors to suit planning and aesthetic requirements- Our factory runs 52 weeks per year for reliable output- Much safer than on-site construction methods- Much faster than traditional construction- Controlled manufacturing environment means consistent quality standards- A low carbon or even carbon-neutral option

By running these phases concurrently, on-site costs and timescales for completion are reduced – this also minimises disruption to the client, which is especially beneficial when the buildings are being used to add space to an existing, active site. We’re 100% confident that we can design and produce a modular building that fulfils all of your criteria, so why not give us a call for a no-obligation chat about the benefits of our pre-fabricated construction services?

As the world becomes more aware of environmental issues, both domestic and commercial property purchasers are under increasing pressure to find eco-friendly solutions – and modular buildings offer the perfect pathway to low carbon construction.

As technologies change, we ensure that we stay one-step ahead, adapting and adopting construction techniques and materials to meet our clients’ rising expectations. Whilemodular buildings are already considered to be an effective ‘eco’ option, we’re constantlyimproving our structures to further reducethe carbon impact of our buildings. With the capabilities to reduce a project’s carbon footprint to zero, Elite Systems are at the forefront when it comes to the development of eco-friendly modular buildings.

Building regulations must always be adhered to (where applicable), and these are also changing in line with environmental pressures. We ensure we meet your eco-build requirements by:

- Investing in innovative technologies- Minimising waste due to our controlled manufacturing processes- Utilising efficient technologies as standard, leading to: - Low running costs - Longevity and low lifecycle costs – modular buildings can be redeployed on other sites once their original use has been exhausted

Eco-friendly constructionMeeting & exceeding regulatory requirements.

We’re always happy to discuss your specific requirements, so please feel free to contact us to learn more about our services – with modular buildings, eco-friendly construction doesn’t have to cost the earth.

The beauty of modular buildings is that the range of applications they offer is almost limitless. Our modern manufacturing facilities enable us to meet any requirement – from a basic site or security office, to a multi-storey education or office complex, and anything in between.

Off-site construction also enables you to expand your premises in line with your growing needs – and your business can operate as normal while your building is being manufactured.

Our experience and expertise means that we can cater for even the most unusual of requests, with our Building Information Modelling service giving you the opportunity to see what the finished product will look like before the manufacturing process begins. This, in turn, means that we can adjust the design and layout according to your feedback.

Pre-fabricated solutions Our experience means your reassurance.

Recent projects Cinema screen to waste recyling centre.

Errol Flynn Filmhouse, NorthamptonClient: Royal and Derngate Theatre

Brief Elite Systems was asked to construct a new luxury cinema extension to the existing theatre complex. Solution We worked alongside One17 Architects to develop a design in line with the client’s requirements, ensuring that the build would work on the city centre site which imposed tight size restrictions. We cleared the land adjacent to the complex and constructed a new cinema in a hybrid of SIPS and steel frame, finished with an attractive western red cedar cladding.

Result The project was delivered in time for the new cinema to be opened on the original complex’s birthday – it currently boasts a 5 star rating on Trip Advisor.

National Grid Head OfficeClient: National Grid Brief In order to meet growing demands, Elite Systems was tasked with providing additional office space, along with welfare facilities and meeting rooms. Solution The client wanted a modern, open-plan style office building, suitable for housing 200 occupants. We identified our core Premier 3000 modular system as the most effective solution for the client’s needs.

Result We delivered the entire project both on time and on budget. The high levels of satisfaction with our building and service has led to an ongoing relationship with National Grid, and we’ve since provided several more buildings across other sites belonging to the organisation.

Jane Lane School, BirminghamClient: Jane Lane School Brief The school needed a new SEN 6th form and independent living block. In addition to the build requirement, groundworks on the site needed to be completed, accounting for the disused mine workings underneath. Solution We constructed a new modular building, enhancing the exterior with Trespa cladding to provide the required finish. In order to prepare the site, we delivered a full groundworks package, which included locating and grouting the old mine shafts below ground, and conducting vibro-compaction of the poor quality ground above the old mine workings.

Result All groundworks and the finished building project was delivered and signed off ready for the start of the autumn term.

Waste Transfer Station, Great DunmowClient: Essex County Council Brief The client required a new welfare facility for a new waste recycling centre. Planning drawings had already been approved by the council, so Elite Systems needed to provide an outcome that replicated the plan details accurately. Solution The client’s drawing specified the use of traditional processes for the build; we needed to ensure that the end requirement could be achieved, using more efficient modular building methods. Result The building was completed on site in just 2 weeks and delivered in line with the approved plans – a vast improvement on the 8-12 weeks the project would have taken to deliver using traditional build methods.
