Project Challenge iPlay America is an 115,000 square foot climate controlled indoor family entertainment center that hosts nine indoor rides, exciting attractions, over 200 arcade games, party rooms, a candy shop, various eateries, as well as a full-service cafe. Located in Freehold, New Jersey iPlay America is an exciting, state of the art indoor theme park where the city meets the boardwalk truly offers something for everyone! Adjacent to iPlay America is the Encore events center with spaces to host large corporate and extended family events.

Project challenges included controlling multiple lamp types in variety of spaces with smooth and instantaneous dimming including fluorescent, incandescent, and a variety of LED sources; including Lumenpulse RGB theatrical lighting system that spans the entire building facade. Also, requirement for fire/egress emergency generator system that Vantage is providing a reliable lighting/disconnect for turning on lighting and turning off sound devices to meet stringent building codes.

The owner and staff needed iPhone and iPod control of the system within the facility with instantaneous feedback. In addition, entertainment center and venue on and off scenarios must be staged to for reduced peak demand. Vantage Solution Vantage’s InFusion system provided a complete lighting solution and the ability to manage the variety of lighting sources with consistent and smooth dimming. Staff can easily set scenes specific to every occasion using the Vantage iPad app. Scenes for each venue can be easily adjusted, as the owner and staff walk around with the mobile touchscreen.

Project Benefits The project required a high degree of teamwork from conception to completion between Vantage, the integrator, and iPlay America. Vantage also provided detailed drawings that assisted both the build teams as well as the architect and electrical engineer, lighting designers, and iPlay construction team.
