NB: the product should be “fed” into curved areas to prevent stretching and to ensure it lies flat prior to the aperture closure.
The new product can be applied to the moving part (door, boot, hood).
The universal design offers the choice of fitting to either the panel or the moving part, depending on the vehicle model.

Through advanced design and construction 50421 achieves significant improvements in meeting today’s aperture masking requirements.
New Soft Edge Foam Masking Tape PLUS masks the widest range of vehicle closures including the narrower gaps found in many of todays’ modern car designs.
The patented tubular design will deform and either expand or compress to fill the majority of apertures, whilst the offset adhesive bead ensures that the adhesive attachment line can be positioned well away from the paint edge to optimise the soft edge performance.This new design also allows the foam to be pushed into the optimal position in the aperture ensuring a quality result everytime.
New SEFMT PLUS is also still suited to taping onto stlyling or swage lines to create a break for blending purposes.
As originators of the soft edge foam masking concept, 3M continues to lead in the field with this new and universal product that can be applied to either the panel or the moving part.
