Work-based learning provide students with the opportunities to develop employability skills necessary to succeed in the workforce. Students have the opportunity to cross train in the following positions:•Catering: (Food Prep, Support Staff, Menu Planning, Management, Ordering and Receiving Food•Front of the House: Server, Busser, Host-person, Dining Room Attendant/ Maître D•Student-ran Snack-bar•Student-ran Barista •Staff Lunches

Building a portfolio also assists in analyzing your strengths and skills, researching career options, and providing direction. You will leave the program with a professional portfolio containing:

•Cover Letter•Resume•Writing Sample•Photos and Documention of Culinary Skills learned through the program•Training certificates (ServSafe, AZ Food Handlers, First Aid/CPR, Etiquette Training, Participation in Competitions, Internship Certificates, Performance Based Assessments, Completion Ceremony)•Community Service Documentation•Involvement with your Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO’s)•Letters of Recommendation•Mission Statement•Examples of Scholarly Effort: Restaurant Design, Business Plan, Menu Planning, Research Projects
