For the first part of the ancillary products for the promotional

package for a new film, I will be analysing posters from different

films in order to make our own for our own film.

Page 2: Adulthood

Firstly analysing Adulthood poster.

Firstly the first thing you would notice is the fact that all the characters are wearing a dark clothing, consisting of hooded jumpers and baggy tracksuit bottoms, this here portrays the danger and conflict within the characters as black represents conflict and darkness.

Another major aspect of this film is the faded sky in the background, as its no ordinary colour, it is an orange colour connotation fire, which represents chaos within the city, showing that this might not just be a simple, boring day. Something is going to go wrong.

When looking at the title of the film on this poster, you can see the lower case ‘d’ which signifies that in this film the don’t always follow the rules and they sometimes go off the rails.

Page 5: Adulthood

When looking at the characters positions you can see the the boy stood at the front ‘Sam’ is shown to be the main character of the film as he is at the front, has his chin up and looks like what is known to be the ‘rough’ character.

You can also see a baseball bat on the floor signifying that there is gong to be crime and violence within the film showing that it is aimed at a younger generation that enjoys this type of film and genre.

Film reviews and ratings are placed at the top of the poster above the main title. They are written in block capitals and they are printed in white upon an orange background which stand out for the readers to see. The film has been given four stars rating which signifies it is a very good film.

Showing the audience representation you can see this through the text at the bottom. ‘Text hood to 67777 to download your free trailer’ this indicates that the main audience for the film is people that would know how to text and would know how to download this trailer therefore after.

So you can see that the audience would be of the younger generation rather than the older generation. Also there Is a age certificate of 15 so I believe that this is aimed more towards young adults being 16-19 as it contains violence and bad language.
