J.E.T.T. Jayhawk Economical Turboprop

TransportFirst in International AIAA Design Competition

Overview: Proposal design for future turboprop-powered passenger aircraft

Design features: • Shrouded turboprop for reduce noise

• Wind-fold mechanism allowing wing span extension (increase aspect ratio) for fuel saving

• Pressure adaptive honeycomb structures and Prandtl-Tailored wingtips for weight and drag reduction

Bio-Inspired Airspeed

SensorProblem: Design an airspeed sensor for high angles of attack and sideslip use, suitable for UAVs.

Solution: Inspired from the Peregrin Falcon’s nose, an airspeed probe prototype was manufactured and wind tunnel tested with optimistic results.

The Bio-Inspired airspeed sensor is currently undergoing flight testing and design adjustment for final product manufacturing.
