This event is a qualifier for the Finals of the BHS Cross-Country Championships 2011. In the nominated qualifying classes, the TWO highest placed riders (or two highest placed Pairs) who are BHS Gold Members ON THE DAY OF THE QUALIFIER will qualify for the Final. In the event of a combination of horse/pony and rider already having qualified, the qualification will pass down to the next eligible competitor. You must provide the Entries Secretary with your BHS membership number when you enter the qualifier but we recommend you also carry your membership card on the day. Non-members may enter qualifying classes. Competitors placed 1

st and 2

nd who are not Gold member on the day of the competition will also have the opportunity to

qualify by becoming a Gold member of the BHS up to 7 days after the qualifier date. This will not pass down and does not affect the highest placed BHS members. All competitors must have had a clear jumping round, time penalties would be allowed but competitors couldn’t qualify with jumping penalties. Competitors who compete on day tickets would still be able to qualify for the BHS Cross Country Championship as long as they were not placed 1

TREC 7th MAY 2011

Come and have a go at Trec. This will be an ideal first-timers competition at Level 1. It is at Frickley Hall Estate, near Hooton Pagnall and is an affiliated competition being organized through BHS. To take part you don’t need fancy clothing or tack, just a sound horse/pony with comfortable tack. As it is a one day competition everyone will do the PTV (obstacles) and CoG (slow canter and fast walk) first in the morning and then at a set time riders will copy a map before setting off on their route of approx 10km. All competitors will do the obstacles and control of paces individually, but you can be competing as a pair so you do the fairly simple orienteering together. To get more information look up the schedule on the BHS website https://www.bhs.org.uk/sitecore/content/mss_content/Websites/MainSite/Riding/BHS_TREC/Competition_Dates/League_Dates.aspx and click on Wink Lodge.

Remember the aim of the day is to have fun with your horse!

Applicants are advised that the booking deposit is NON REFUNDABLE unless their place can be filled well in

that the weather is kind to us, although some dormitories will be available if requested. There are showers available.

FUN.
