Private Driveway Snow Removal Notice The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Public Works Department, Road Maintenance Division wishes to bring to the attention of the Borough residents and property owners that it is illegal to plow snow from private property onto or across the public road right-of-ways. Illegal plowing of snow onto the road right-of-way reduces the width of the driving surface, creates safety hazards, restricts sight distance, creates drainage problems during spring run-off, and makes it difficult and more costly for snow removal operations. Additional costs means additional taxes. Borough ordinances allow a fine of up to $500.00 for each violation. We ask for the cooperation of all responsible citizens of the borough.
