Aim of the Day
To assess carers competence to administer Rectal Valium Safely
Emphasis of training on using the JEC protocol
Rectal Valium Training
Have to attend epilepsy awareness first Small groups initially Need:
– Prosthetic Bum– Full size 1st aid mannequin– TV & Video
Plan of Day
Morning– Written assessment 1– What is rectal
Valium– Why we use it– Practical
demonstration– First Aid
Afternoon– Written assessment 2– break– individually enter a
room for practical assessment
– Change scenario
