An adjective is a word that describes nouns such as: persons, animals, places or things.

• For examples:• Ahmed is happy.• The tiger is strong.• The garden looks

beautiful.• The ring is expensive.

Adjectives usually come just before the noun they describe.• nice boy • big house

They can also come after a linking verb such as, verb to be, seem, look, smell, …..etc.•The food smells good.•Ahmed is tall.

Comparative Adjectives

• They are used to compare two persons, animals, places or things.• They are usually followed by ‘’than’’.

The car is faster than the bike.

Adjectives are made comparatives by adding ‘’er’’ at the end of the adjective.

Superlative Adjectives

• They are used to compare one person, animal, place or thing with others of the same kind.

• They always take the article ‘’the’’ in front of them.

The cheetah is the fastest animal in the world.
