We are proud to have Sam Goodchild as our new pro-mising ambassador for short-handed offshore racing in the adidas sailing team. After 2 years with the Arte-mis Offshore Academy Sam has started his own Figaro campaign to carry on building his experience on the road to the 2016 Vendee Globe.

JOCHEN SCHÜMANN

Jochen is three-time gold medalist at the Olympic games 1976, 1988 and 1996. He is two-time winner of the America’s Cup with the team Alinghi in 2003 and 2007. Currently he is the skipper of the Esimit Europe 2 team, which adidas sailing has contracted this year. He shares our passion for sailing and performance and is brand ambassador for adidas since many years.

MATCH RACE GERMANY

The Match Race Germany is one of the six events of the World Match Racing Tour. It takes place around May every year in Langenargen at Lake Constance. Only the world best match racing teams are invited to participate. adidas Sailing took this opportunity to showcase its products in one of the challenging envi-ronments for which they have been designed.

Esimit Europa 2 is one of the fastest and technological-ly most advanced yachts in the world. Since the project was launched in 2010 the 30 m maxi yacht has won every race in which it has competed. Esimit is the only boat in the world to sail under the European fl ag. The 18 crew members come from eight different European countries.

Patented For Performance! drirelease® with FreshGuard®

drirelease® with FreshGuard® offers a patented blend of 85-90% hydrophobic/synthetic („water-hating“) fabrics and 10-15% natural/hydrophilic („water-loving“) fi bers. This intimate combination teams up to effi ciently grab liquid away from the skin and push it to the outside of the fabric where it can evaporate quickly. That‘s why clothing made with drirelease® always feels soft and always stays dry.

Keep on course – and keep fresh! FreshGuard® is an environment friendly odor neutralizer that is embedded in all drirelease® fabrics. It eliminates odors in garments by blocking odor-causing seba-ceousbody oils from attaching to the fabric – also stopping the attraction of odor-causing bacteria.

Unlike other products, which use a topical anti-microbial fi nish, FreshGuard® is a process that is built directly into drirelease® fabrics and doesn’t come out in the wash. When tested by the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) in each of the tests, Fresh-Guard® products emerged untouched.

This innovative, super fl at adjustment mechanism on the inside offers immense benefi ts: even multi-layered material stays fl at and there is no danger caused by loose ends. The closing mechanism is adjustable to any body size.

Neoprene back and side panels adjust per-fectly to any body shape without restricting movement. The high elasticity makes it easy to put on.

The elastic neoprene cuffs on the inside of sleeves and the ends of the legs fi t perfectly to wrists and ankles, as well as shoes, and ensure optimum protection against water penetration. Neoprene also feels comforta-ble against the skin.

The all-round adjustment mechanism runs through a tunnel, which is taped onto the inside of the jacket. Therefore, there are no unnecessary seams and overhanging end pieces; fl exible, fl at adjustment due to hook and loop, adjustable to any body size.

The back panel protects against blows in the high-risk area of the lower back. The new, shock absorbing 3D Mesh Pad is fi xed to the jacket on the inside and dries extre-mely quickly.

A further innovation: the hook and loop sec-tion attached at an angle ensures optimum fi tting even during instances of increased movement. The 3M® Refl ector adds a further safety component.

ASA – PRODUCT RANGE INNOVATIONS

A side panel goes from the hem to the sleeve seam. This ensures maximum freedom of move-ment and that the shirt stays in the same positi-on during any movement. Seam free technology prevents the irritation of the skin and the under-side of the arm.

The sleeve’s seam is double-bonded without a seam. This means the sleeves can be shortened according to fi t without the fabric fraying.

The collar is made of a single piece and does not need any seams. This increases the protection and comfort. The neck has a high cut and there-fore offers maximum sun protection.

The all-round adjustment mechanism runs through a tunnel, which is taped onto the inside of the jacket. Therefore, there are no unneces-sary seams and overhanging end pieces; fl exible, fl at adjustment due to hook and loop, adjustable to any body size.

Neoprene back and side panels adjust perfectly to any body shape without restricting movement. The high elasticity makes it easy to put on.

The elastic neoprene cuffs on the inside of sleeves and the ends of the legs fi t perfectly to wrists and ankles, as well as shoes, and ensure optimum protection against water penetration. Neoprene also feels comfortable against the skin.

coldblack® is a high performace fabric fi nishing technology that reduces heat build-up and provides reliable protection from UV rays in adidas sailing garments.

The patented, unique blend of synthetic and natural fi bers in drirelease yarn actually accelerates the water release rate of the fabric. Rather than just spreading moisture across the surface, drirelease fabrics push water perspiration to the outside of a garment, releasing it into the air faster than any other performance fabric on the market.

3M™ Scotchlite™ refl ective material - grade utilize the principle of retrorefl ection and are comprised of an encapsulated lens optical design that provides high refl ectivity over a wide range of entrance angles, whether dry or wet. 3M™ Scotchlite™ Refl ective Material - grade products are intended for refl ectorizing life support equipment such as life vests, jackets, and rafts.

FORMOTION® apparel is three-dimensionally engineered to move naturally with the athlete’s body during sport. Realizing the shortcomings of traditional two-dimensional apparel, adidas created FORMOTION® to follow every curve of the athlete’s body and mimic the natural move-ment of sport for a better fi t and greater comfort while in motion.
