with the following guidelines. Please let us know if any of the application materials you have submitted
includes a variation of the name with which you are applying.
Application Fee
The application fee is waived for users of the online application.
Transcripts from institutions within Australia or the United States:
If you list an institution on your application that is located within Australia or the United States
(including Carnegie Mellon University transcripts)your transcripts must be sent to Carnegie Mellon
University Australia in an official form.

We will accept electronic transcripts sent directly from the registrar of the institution (if your institution
offers this service). Please have the registrar send electronic documents to the Admissions Office.
Those transcripts that are mailed to the Admissions Office must be enclosed in a sealed envelope
(unopened) and signed across the seal by the registrar's office and mailed to:

Transcripts from institutions outside of Australia or the United States:
If you list an institution on your application that is located outside of Australia or the United States,
please do not mail your transcriptto Carnegie Mellon University Australia. Instead, you must use an
academic credential verification service to obtain a course-by-course report. The credential verification
service will then send this report directly to Carnegie Mellon University Australia either electronically orby mail. We will accept transcripts received from the academic verification service only: do not mail your
transcript to the Heinz College. We will accept evaluations from a number of companies including, but
not limited to members ofNACES.

World Education Service (WES) (BASIC Package, course-by-course evaluation)
Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)(course-by-course report)
If you choose a credential verification service not listed above, you will need to provide them with our
mailing or electronic address, depending upon how they choose to send your report to the Admissions
Office.

Graduate Records Exam (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
All applicants are required to take the GRE or GMAT.
If taking the GRE, only the general test is required. If you took the test more than five years ago, you
must take it again. Test scores must be submitted directly by the Educational Testing Service (ETS).

English Language Proficiency
All applicants to the programs whose native language is not English are required to submit official score
results from either IELTS or TOEFL. The only exception is for applicants who have received a degree from

a university that shows you have studied in English for 5 years or more in Australia, Canada, New
Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom, the United States of America or South Africa.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Minimum of 6.5 overall and no less than 6.0in all bands
Test scores are valid for two (2) years and must be submitted directly by IELTS to the Carnegie Mellon
University Australia Admissions Office or uploaded with your application.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Minimum of90(iBT) overall and no less than 22in all bands
Test scores are valid for two (2) years and must be submitted directly by ETS to the Carnegie Mellon
University Australia Admissions Office or uploaded with your application.

Statement of PurposeFor all applicants, within your required essay, we look for evidence of your commitment to the discipline
and we pay attention to how much thought and effort you put into writing your essay. This essay must
be uploaded with your online application prior to submission.
Please make sure to upload the final version of your essay with the online application. Failure to do so
may delay the processing and review of your application for admission; this may impact your admissions
status.
CV/Resume
All applicants are required to include a current one to two page rsum that summarizes your
educational background, accomplishments, employment experience and volunteer experience. Thersum must include all part time and full time work experience, the dates of when the employment
began and ended and a brief description of your responsibilities under the title of the position.
Your resume must be uploaded with your online application prior to submission. Please make sure to
upload the final version of your resume with the online application. Failure to do so may delay the
processing and review of your application for admission; this may impact on your admission status.
Recommendations
Applicants are required to have three recommendations submitted on their behalf. Recommendation
forms must be completed by three people who can provide academic or professional references.
Please note recommendations from friends, family members or acquaintances, and other sources not
able to evaluate applicants on an academic or professional basis, will not be accepted.
Recommendations are submitted electronically through the online application system by your
recommenders. We do not accept recommendations submitted on paper.
The applicant must input the names and contact information for each recommendation provider into
the application system. Prior to requesting that your recommendation providers complete the
recommendation online, be sure to check with them to ensure that you register them with the correct
email address

Please let your recommenders know that they may upload an electronic document or scanned copy of a
paper-based recommendation using the online system rather than using the text box response fields
(but they must upload their recommendation via the online system).

All applicants who are interested in being considered for applicable scholarships will be reviewed foravailable scholarships at the time of admission. No additional essay or application is required for
