Apple Institute 2015, The Americas

Presenting Showcase of the America's Educators allows recognise and

understand great achievements by using and integrating of tech. Evidences that could be identified as coincidences in other Educators who can start new connections to share projects with the same target o maybe as inspiring ideas being into yourself to undertake it in classroom.

In this institute I had de privilege to present my project - “Swift in Education” (video) , a vision of how , the new programming language, could be achieved in High-Ed classes by focussing on experimenting and learning by doing. At the same time the importance to present outside the classroom in Student’s Summit as a tool to share coding concepts into the classroom, and feeling proud of the Student's work. Apple Institute 2015 The Americas 1

From North to South, America

In this institute of Apple Distinguished Educator were united more than 400 Educators from different teaching areas, from Kinder to High-Ed Teachers, being the most relevant now is the addition of teacher from Brazil, Colombia and Chile who are integrated to US, Canada and Mexico as region “the Americas”

Showcases.

It’s one of the best moment in the institute, attending and watching different presentations

conducted by leader in Education. Learning Into the institute’s roadmap , ADE attended special session and talks

as introduction of many knowledge areas like authoring interactive book with iBook Author, designing and 3D printing. Controlling and programming drones.

Experimenting with new smart devices that allow the design and creation of controlled activities in order to propose new solutions based in ordering piece of blocks - embedded code- by connecting small electronics pieces to create a robot.

All this to discover and develop new competencies and skills to design solutions by building and shorting many actions that can be executed in real time, make some adjustments until it works as expected, having as target the complete understanding in each stage of the building and testing process.

Experimenting could promote de assignment and re-definition of new learning spaces in which Students could participate and engage following the "maker" culture.

Workshops.

Workshops, a great skill not only in the domain of using tech, transferring this knowledge and experience to Educators, side by side with another Educators and Apple's experts, in order to motivate

them to create and authoring new content not just in classroom, to inspire another Educators into his college or even around the world.

Fantastic Apple authoring tools, like iBook Author to

create wonderful interactive books, Swift as new programming language to start teaching coding. Finally, Pedagogical Models based on best recommendations and practices to challenge Educators to design new classroom activities and Students capacity to resolve issues and propose new solutions.

#ADE2015 7/29/15

Creating ADE are supporting and promoting education by using new tech, but

now can authoring rich and curated content by creating projects that could be personal project that will reflect his talent and the huge capacity in the classes they’re teaching into an interactive book to support other Educators around the world by sharing it.

Or even, ADE can create content for the classroom using iTunes U to publish the content and feedback by using Student's devices.

Projects as community engagement were the most chosen and generate great expectation, will be evidences of his success on the following institutes.

Projects

One of the biggest opportunity and responsibility as ADE is show his talent and even more his capacity to participate and produce a project, starting with a personal project to present the best of each ones in your expertise area and the best of them.

ADE’s can create projects to support global community of Educators that will be accessible and available in iTunes U service as public resource

Into this process of authoring and sharing projects, a real feeling of support and collaboration is presented due to teamwork between Educator with the same interests and skills working together no matter the language, but aware to produce in different idioms.

Conclusiones

Apple Institute 2015 The Americas 4

Having the participation of new Educators form Brazil, Colombia and Chile into this institute “The Americas” allowed the latino inclusion and allowed the incorporation of great Educators. They presented new teaching techniques using tech, they presented how get access to resources by using iTunes U, the real challenge for them now is authoring content not just in English, Portuguese and Spanish too.

Opportunities to go beyond the integration of tech because as ADE they are ambassadors and advisors and now they are Authors.

The activities like showcases, working sessions and project definition are a clear vision of the new roles that century XXI Educators must achieve, another challenge is not just replace tech, but must transform the classroom into a new teaching and learning environment.

Future is welcome, by experimenting with re-definition of "maker spaces" and smart devices that could integrate new concepts and model like “Internet of Things” where Students could not only design own solutions, they could build and create it using small electronics and 3D printers.

Finally, we ready to the following Apple trends, proposals like Swift open source, Just imagine to coding and creating throughout different platforms..
