FROM THE EASTAlone we are a single drop, together we can be a tidal wave

Brethren,As I write this, I am making preparations to head out to Grand Lodge, which will begin on Monday the 28th of May and will end on Wednesday the 30th. Be sure to attend our next meeting on June 5th to learn the status of the pending legislation changes that we will be voting on.

Also I want to let you know that our air conditioning systems are in need of replacement. I have received a quote on the new equipment we need from one of our brothers that does commercial air conditioning and it looks like we are facing about a $20,000 bill to replace 4 of the 5 systems we have. The good news is that the new systems will cost significantly less to operate than the existing systems which could potentially same us several thousand dollars over the next few years. The bad news is that we don’t have the funds available to replace the systems, so we will need to find a way to raise the money. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Please mark your calendars and come to the Fellowcraft degree on the 12th of June.

Fraternally Yours,Worshipful Master, Dan Van Alstine

From the WestMy Brothers:First and foremost lets not forget that June 1 is the start of hurricane season and we have our first named storm already. Break out those old checklists and check your supplies.By the time you get this we will have had our Grand communications meeting, come to lodge to hear the results. Our guest speaker for June is Sir Night Rodger Craig who will share the York right side of free masonry.Do not forget our Fellow Craft degree on the 12th, come support our new brothers. Speaking of support YOUR lodge need your support, our chicken BBQs are falling short. We need new A/C units and a new lawn mower, and our BBQ is our major fund raiser. Any ideas or suggestions to improve feel free to contact me or W Dan. Remember it takes a village.

Masonic EducationReading books on Freemasonry can always provide us with interesting facts about our craft. For example…In World War II it was estimated that

the Nazi party and Hitler killed between 80,000 and 200,000 Freemasons. Their reasoning was that Masons were linked to Jewish people and that Freemasons were going to manipulate and shape society. Another interesting fact is that Henry Ford, automaker and Freemason, was anti-Jewish. He

stated that Masons were part of the Jewish conspiracy. He wrote articles and spread propaganda against the Jewish people. He had a picture of Hitler in his office and he criticized Freemasonry at times. Later in life he did back down from some of his comments. The more you read the more you learn.

Chaplain’s CornerOver the past few months I have been reading some of the earliest books on Freemasonry. One of the most important books is “The Book of

Constitution” written and published by Dr. James Anderson in 1723. He was a Scottish Christian minister. As a Freemason, he wrote this book on the history, laws, charges, and regulations that were to be used in Masonic lodges. He used his background as a minister to emphasize Christian doctrine. He introduced a universal God – The Supreme Architect of the Universe. In the Holy Book of Faith, Masons are to be tolerant of all religions and it introduced the fact that Hiram Abiff was a Biblical figure in the building of King Solomon’s Temple.

From the Scottish ClubA Thank You to all who help with the

with the Firearms Safety Class Fundraiser held at the lodge on April 28. It was a success and a service to

the community.
