ETX, Embedded Technology Extended, is a new architecture for industrial applictions. It fulfills the requirements for embedded technology by a compact module of most PC functions:
ETX divides a complete motherboard system into two parts physically:
– ETX MODULE - as small as 4.5” x 4” size, carries CPU system and core ASICs
– BASEBOARD – including all I/O connectors, plus some supplementary functions.

ETX modules can be utilized as components by plugging into an application-specific baseboard and putting the core CPU and subsystems together with sound, SVGA, Ethernet and additional I/O. The module connects to the rest of the embedded system through high-density, low profile SMT connectors, which carry both ISA and PCI bus signals as well as dedicated I/O interfaces. The mechanics of the interconnection of an ETX/baseboard system is physically the same height as a one-board solution. ETX modules are interchangeable, allowing system designs to be scaleable.
Unique design of LAN placement:In order to avoid any unwantedinterruptions, IEI places the LAN function on the baseboard, in order to provide better performance and reliability. Therefore, the chip and transformer won't be affected by noise signals in communication. Ordering Information

Watch DOG TimerThe Watch Dog Timer (WDT) is a special hardware device designed to monitor the computer system whether functioning normally. It also offers some measures to fix the system. IEI provides software development kir for timing application configurations. When time is up, WDT will send Reset signal to system for hardware reboot. Operator can tune counting value into WDT Configuration Register (write the control value to the Configuration Port), and clear WDT counter (read the Configuration Port).

The primary screen resolutions are 640x480, 800x600, 1,024x768 and 1,280x1,024. At higher resolutions, the image is more visible, but the text and images appear smaller. On small monitors, 640x480 and 800x600 are used. On 17" monitors, 1,024x768 is common, and 1,280x1,024 and higher are used on monitors 19" and above. It all depends on your eyesight. The ACE-810V/818C is designed for mobile PC applications. The most valuable feature is that it has a secondary battery input that keeps the power supply running when the primary 12V DC or 24V DC is lost. Then the power supply switches to battery backup mode. ACE-810V/818C two kinds of signals VS1 and VS2. After the primary lost message is displayed, the PC may do a system shutdown that is controlled by the software program.
For ACE-810V/818C are not only applied as a power supply. It can be treated as a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) while combined with battery module .This series of power supply provide stable electronic and send signal from TB-3 of PIN2 for doing system control and configuration depending on user's demands. Moreover, it is easy to connect within voltameter for doing voltage monitoring.
*Notes: It can be used as an identifier by PIN2 signal while there are interrupt of DC power and recovery.
