Experience and Standing in the Industry Industry Training Qld commenced operations in the Mt Isa region (as J&N Transport Services Pty Ltd) and continued there for some ten years. In year 2000, J & N Transport Services Pty Ltd assessed the North Queensland marketplace and found that the majority of the demand for heavy vehicle driver training was in the coastal region, and therefore decided to relocate to Townsville. This enabled J & N Transport Services Pty Ltd to meet the training demand in the coastal area and also continue to service remote areas. ITQ then invested heavily into their own future by taking the next step into our own premises at the Bohle. Since relocating to Toll Street, ITQ have experienced solid growth throughout the Townsville and North Qld region, by investing in our own equipment and training facility it helps shape the community’s perspective of how a training organisation should operate. Technical Expertise

Every facet of training is scrutinised and controlled through detailed testing and continual quality checks performed by our Training Coordinator. The CEO of ITQ, together with his management and staff, bring with them decades of experience resulting in skills that cover the broad range of all training aspects needed to meet customer demands. This flexibility, combined with diversity in talent and experience, allows ITQ to be at the forefront of producing variety of training from White Card to Advanced Rigging.

Training Our trainers are not just trainers, but "industry experienced" trainers/assessors, with years of experience in their field of training and assessment. They remain in touch with industry through local and far-reaching networks, to ensure that our training and assessment practices meet the requirements of current industry best practice. The company still maintains a general transport division to enable the close relationship of our trainers to the industry to be maintained, allowing them to be "at the coal face" at all times.

Commitment to Safety

Industry Training Qld considers the occupational health, safety and welfare of its staff and clients to be of the utmost importance. Industry Training Qld takes all “reasonably practicable” steps to provide and maintain a safe and healthy workplace as well as learning environment. A successful OH&S program is dependent upon all persons, whilst on Industry Training Qld’ premises, sharing responsibility for ensuring a safe and healthy environment. Industry Training Qld has a designated person (Manager) with direct access to the Managing Director who has defined responsibility and authority in relation to occupational health and safety issues within the organisation. Industry Training Qld ensures all staff and clients are aware of their responsibility regarding OH&S issues through provision of safety information and education. Regular hazard audits are carried out on the Industry Training Qld premises. The delivery and assessment of all nationally recognised programs incorporates relevant OH&S requirements. Industry Training Qld ensures that OH&S requirements, including emergency evacuation procedures are known and adhered to in all their delivery and assessment of nationally recognised programs under their scope of registration. All injuries, accidents and near misses are reported to the Manager and recorded on an Accident and Injury Report. All incidents are investigated and action taken to prevent their re-occurrence. A first aid box and manual is available for use by staff and clients.

Industry Training Qld Training Programs

The courses provided by ITQ are competency based training programs that allows students to complete both the formal and informal requirements of the licence all at ITQ’s training facility or your workplace by prior arrangement. Students are required to be trained to a level suitable to achieve all elements necessary to satisfy the mandatory Workplace Health & Safety Qld assessment:

Course Overview

Trucks – driver training for all trucks from medium rigid, heavy rigid, heavy combination and multi combination

Machinery – Train and assess all machines using our machines at our premises. We cater from beginners to the experienced for both civil and mining industries. We also do VOC’S (verification of competency) on all machinery.

Transport Training – We offer truck courses that are relevant in obtaining employment in the transport industry, such as forklift licence, load restraint, side loader and fatigue management.

High Risk – Full training and assessment in high risk machinery licensing Such as Forklift, EWP, Cranes, Dogging and Rigging

Cranes – Include Bridge and Gantry, Remote and Cabin operated, Slewing cranes up to 100 tonne, Non slew crane and Vehicle loading crane

Trainer Assessor – Qualify to become a trainer assessor in industry or to train in the qualifications required.

Cert IV OHS – Qualify to become WHS Officer, WHS Rep or Advisor

Mining Inductions – (Surface, underground, upgrades and Recognition of prior learning RPL) Standard 11 inductions designed for those wishing to work in that industry.

Purpose Built – Confined Space and Working at Heights unit which is completely transportable to site.

Other – Include white card, chain saw, traffic control and traffic management, yellow and gold card
