1.DRIERS (PENGERING)• Accelerate the paints drying

(hardening) by catalyzing the oxidation of the binder.

• Added to dryer oils to enhance polymerization or oxidation of unsaturated groups

• Example : Lead(Pb), Manganese (Mn), Cobalt(Co),

The Oxidation Process (drying process)

• Paint dry as the result of an oxidative reaction, an oxidative reaction being the absorption of oxygen from the air.  This reaction is a complex one that can be broken down into different stages; The Autoxidation phase, the Polymerisation phase and finally the Stationary phase.

2.PLASTICISERS(PEMPLASTIK)

• Increase the paints flexibility• Give the nature of elasticity, plastic

and anti aging and low temperature resistant to paint

Additives Functions

3. Adhesion promoters

Improve the adhesion of the coating to the substrate

4. Corrosion inhibitors

Reduce the corrosion rate of the substrate

5. Texturizers Impart textures to the coating

Additives Functions

6. Fungicides, Biocides and Insecticides

Prevent growth and attack of fungi, bacteria and insects

7. Emulsifiers Wetting agent increasing the colloidal stability of the paints in liquid state

8. UV Stabilizers Provide stability of the paints under ultra-violet light

SWEEPING OF THE PAINT• Sweeping the by using a brush or

roller.

The paint melt when it deposited on metal object

Paint and metal object will have different charge, therefore the paint will attracted to metal object.

The metal object is given a high voltage negative charge and consequently it became negatively charged.

Paint in the form of powder is given positive charges

HEATING PAINT

The paint turn to liquid when it expose to heat

The paint become harden when cooling

Example :wax or encaustic paint
