Directions for adding and subtracting integers on a number line…

1. Start on the…first number in the expression.

2. To know which way to face on the number line look at the…sign of the second number in the expression.

If it is positive face right because the positives are to the right on the number line.

If it is negative face left because the negatives are to the left on the number line.

3. To move just remember: If you are adding…move forward. If you are subtracting…move backward.
