III. REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION
Item No. 1 Drinking Fountain Clarification:
Questions per RFI No. 1 from O.C. McDonald Company, Inc.: 1. The following drawings call for removal and installation of new drinking
fountain. None shown on mechanical drawings. Please clarify. a. Drawing A2.2, Key Note 8 b. Drawing A2.3, Key Note 5 c. Drawing A2.4, Key Note 5 d. Drawing A2.6, Key Note 8 e. Drawing A2.7, Key Note 8 f. Drawing A2.8, Key Note 8
2. Reference Drawing A5.1, Key Note 12 and Detail 14/A1.01. None shown on
A5.1 or mechanical drawings.
Answers per Spencer Associates (AOR):
1. On the Architectural Drawings, the demolition notes and floor plan notes are
repeated on each sheet. On demolition plans, key note 5 is called out to
remove existing drinking fountains on sheets A2.1 and A2.3. For floor plans,
key note 8 is called out on the plan only on sheets A2.5 and A2.7. These
sheet numbers correspond to existing drinking fountains to be replaced in
Building A West on the first and second floors. The drinking fountain model is
being added in this addendum. See item I.B.1. Mechanical drawing M2.1
shows the first floor drinking fountain. The second floor drinking fountain is
not shown on the mechanical drawings. Refer to sheet A2.3 and A2.7 for
location. See attached RFI/response.
2. Drawing A5.1, key note 12 references a urinal screen. The detail reference is
14/A10.1. This detail was missing, and has been added in this addendum. See
item II.A.1.
Item No. 2 Guard Rail Infill Panel Clarification
Question per RFI No. 2 from Rodan Builders, Inc. – Per sheet A8.4 it calls for OPUS 30 infill
panels for the guard rails, this is typical throughout. However, in the specifications it calls
for cable railing. There are also no specifications for the OPUS 30 panels. Please advise.
Answer – Refer to Section II. Project Manual Revisions Item No. 2 of this addendum. See
attached RFI/response.
Item No. 3 Data Cabling Clarifications
Questions per RFI No. 3 from Rodan Builders, Inc.:
1. On plan sheet E3.5 sheet note #7 is states to replace existing Cat5 with new
Cat6, however there are no outlets shown for this work. We need to know
how many cables we are supposed to replace in all of these rooms.
2. In addition, on plan sheets E3.1-E3.4 same sheet note #7 states to replace
existing Cat5 with new Cat6, however in all of these rooms, it is only showing
two outlets in the rooms. Are we to figure on just two one cable locations in
all these rooms, or is there more required?
3. For the open triangle data symbol, are we to assume that this is a single Cat6
cable outlet or are more required at each of these outlets?

Measure T Bond Program Office
2565 Goodwin Avenue, Redwood City, CA 94061
phone: 650.482.2840
Answers per Spencer Associates (AOR):
1. See attached revised drawing E3.5.
2. There shall be replacement of (2) existing single-jack data outlets and the
associated cabling in each classroom. All other existing cabling and data
outlet plates to be removed. In other areas, such as offices or conference
rooms, replace number of outlets as indicated on drawings. Exact location of
each outlet on existing wiremold to be verified in field. Note that as indicated
on drawings, new Cat. 6 or Cat. 6A shall be provided to new data outlets at
new locations throughout the classrooms, as noted on drawings. (Sheet notes
#13, 14, 15 on E3.3. Other sheets similar). Typical classroom data outlet
provisions, are (2) existing to be replaced on existing wiremold, (2) high on
wall, (2) on ceiling for Wireless Access Point, (1) at +46” AFF adjacent to
entry door for VoIP telephone system, as shown for each classroom on
drawings E3.1 through E3.4.
3. Per E0.1, the data symbol is a single Cat. 6 cable outlet, except where shown
with subscript # to indicate additional jacks. Note that most data outlets are
installed in existing wiremold, as shown on drawings.
Item No. 4 Material Clarification / Installation Coordination
Question per RFI No. 4 from JB Jordan & Associates – In Part 2 – Products, Tandus carpet
tile is specified, but I do not see a finish schedule included in the architectural plans. Will
the flooring be going in a different phase?
Answer – There is no carpet flooring in this project. Refer to Section III. Drawing Revisions
Item No. 2 of this addendum. See attached RFI/response.
