The contract documents for the Angie Branch Library as prepared by Nobles and Associates, LLC,

562 Columbia Street, Bogalusa, LA 70427, Dated December 12, 2019 are hereby modified, corrected and/or

supplemented by this Addendum #1. This addendum shall be considered a part of the Plans, Specifications

and Contract Documents (Except as noted otherwise) and is issued to change, amplify or delete from, or

otherwise explain these documents where provisions of this addendum differ from those of the original

documents. This addendum shall have precedence over the original documents and shall govern.

1. GENERAL NOTES

a. CLARIFY There is not specific Bid Bond Form for this project. Bidders may use forms

provided by their respective bonding company.

b. CLARIFY Interior framing shall be 20 ga. cold formed metal framing following the depth

as specified on the construction plans.

None of the other wall details show insulation. I would think all the walls (Excluding the fur off walls) would need to be insulated to just above the acoustical ceilings. Response (2): All Restroom walls as well as the Conference Room walls shall be insulated to minimize sound transmission Question/Comment (3): What is the project budget? Response (3): The Engineer’s estimated budget for this project is $250,000. Question/Comment (4): Can concrete not exposed to view be earth formed? Engineer experienced in design of this work and licensed in Louisiana.

A. Prepare structural component surfaces in accordance with SSPC-SP 3.

B. Shop prime structural steel members. Do not prime surfaces that will be field welded.

2.4 SOURCE QUALITY CONTROL

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Verify that conditions are appropriate for erection of structural steel and that the work may properly

proceed.

3.2 ERECTION

A. Erect structural steel in compliance with AISC 303.

B. Allow for erection loads and provide sufficient temporary bracing to maintain structure in safe

condition, plumb, and in true alignment until completion of erection and installation of permanent

bracing.

C. Field weld components indicated on shop drawings.

D. Do not field cut or alter structural members without approval of Architect.

E. After erection, prime welds, abrasions, and surfaces not shop primed, except surfaces to be in contact

with concrete.

F. Grout solidly between column plates and bearing surfaces, complying with manufacturer's instructions

for nonshrink grout. Trowel grouted surfaces smooth, splaying neatly to 45 degrees.

3.3 TOLERANCES

A. Maximum Variation from Plumb: 1/4 inch per story, non-cumulative.

B. Maximum Offset from True Alignment: 1/4 inch.

3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

A. An independent testing agency will perform field quality control tests, as specified in Section 01 4000

- Quality Requirements.

B. Welded Connections: Visually inspect all field-welded connections.

2.2 FRAMING SYSTEM

A. Provide primary and secondary framing members, bridging, bracing, plates, gussets, clips, fittings, reinforcement, and fastenings as required to provide a complete framing system.

B. Design Criteria: Provide completed framing system having the following characteristics: 1. Design: Calculate structural characteristics of cold-formed steel framing members according to

AISI S100-12, IBC and ASCE 7 (latest editions) 2. Structural Performance: Design, engineer, fabricate, and erect to withstand specified design

6. Lateral bracing shall be provided by use of gypsum board and gypsum sheathing and/or horizontal straps or cold-rolled channels securely fastened to the studs and spaced as required.

7. Framing system shall be able to tolerate movement of components without damage, failure of joint seals, undue stress on fasteners, or other detrimental effects when subject to seasonal or cyclic day/night temperature ranges.

8. Framing system shall accommodate construction tolerances, deflection of building structural members, and clearances of intended openings.

2.3 FRAMING MATERIALS

A. Studs and Track: ASTM C955; studs formed to channel, "C", or "Sigma" shape with punched web; U-shaped track in matching nominal width and compatible height. 1. Gage and Depth: 20ga. min; depth as indicated on the drawings. 2. Galvanized in accordance with ASTM A653/A653M, G90/Z275 coating. 3. Framing Connectors: Factory-made, formed steel sheet. 4. Material: ASTM A653/A653M SS Grade 33 and 40 (minimum), with G90/Z275 hot dipped

galvanized coating for base metal thickness less than 10 gage, 0.1345 inch, and factory punched holes and slots.

5. Structural Performance: Maintain load and movement capacity required by applicable code, when evaluated in accordance with AISI S100-12.

6. Movement Connections: Provide mechanical anchorage devices that accommodate movement using slotted holes, shouldered screws or screws and anti-friction or stepped

7. bushings, while maintaining structural performance of framing. Provide movement connections at wall to beam and wall to metal deck. a Where top of stud wall terminates below structural floor or roof, connect studs to

structure in manner allowing vertical movement of slab without affecting studs; allow for minimum movement of 1/2 inch.

8. Fixed Connections: Provide non-movement connections for tie-down to foundation, floor-to-floor tie-down, roof-to-wall tie-down, joist hangers, gusset plates, and stiffeners.

9. Wall Stud Bridging Connections: Provide mechanical load-transferring devices that accommodate wind load torsion and weak axis buckling induced by axial compression loads. Provide bridging connections as required.

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Verify that substrate surfaces are ready to receive work.

B. Verify field measurements and adjust installation as required.

3.2 INSTALLATION OF STUDS

A. Install components in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and ASTM C1007 requirements.

B. Align floor and ceiling tracks; locate to wall layout. Secure in place with fasteners at maximum 24 inches on center. Coordinate installation of sealant with floor and ceiling tracks.

C. Place studs at 16 inches on center; not more than 2 inches from abutting walls and at each side of openings. Connect studs to tracks using fastener method.

D. Construct corners using minimum of three studs. Install double studs at wall openings, door and window jambs.

E. Coordinate placement of insulation in multiple stud spaces made inaccessible after erection.

F. Install intermediate studs above and below openings to align with wall stud spacing

G. Provide deflection allowance in stud track, directly below horizontal building framing at non-load bearing framing.

H. Attach cross studs to studs for attachment of fixtures anchored to walls.

I. Install framing between studs for attachment of mechanical and electrical items, and to prevent stud rotation.

J. Touch-up field welds and damaged galvanized surfaces with primer.

3.3 WALL SHEATHING

A. Wall Sheathing: Secure with long dimension perpendicular to wall studs, with ends over firm bearing and staggered, using self-tapping screws.

1.4 SUBMITTALS

A. See Section 01 3000 -Administrative Requirements, for submittal procedures.

B. Product Data: For each type of product indicated.

1. Include construction details, material descriptions, dimensions of individual components, and

profiles.

C. Shop Drawings:

1. Submit shop drawings showing all components, dimensions, openings, connections, and

reinforcing.

D. Material Data

1. Submit certificates of material conformance with specifications.

2. Submit manufacturer’s literature and instructions.

E. Design Data

1. Precast Concrete Utility Structures shall be designed for a live load of HS20-44 according to

ASTM C857.

2. Design computations shall be stamped by a Professional Engineer registered in the state in

which the project is located.

F. QUALITY CONTROL

1. Precast Concrete Utility Structures shall be provided by a supplier with 5+ years of experience

in the manufacture of products required for this project.

2. Precast Producer shall be an NPCA certified plant.

3. Precast Producer shall be certified to ISO standards.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.1 PRECAST CONCRETE

A. ASTM C 1227, precast, reinforced-concrete tank and covers; single chamber, single chamber

with internal baffle, or two chambers.

B. Precast elements shall be manufactured with concrete having a minimum 28-day compressive strength,

f’c equal to 5000psi.

C. Reinforcement:

1. Deformed Wire Reinforcing WWR – Per ASTM A1064

2. Reinforcing Bars – Per ASTM A615, Grade 60. Weldable bars shall conform to ASTM A706,

Grade 60

D. Resilient Connectors:

1. ASTM C 923 (ASTM C 923M), of size required for piping, fitted into inlet and outlet

openings.

2.2 POLYTHENE

A. Molded, HDPE or PE construction; fabricated for septic tank application; single chamber, single

chamber with baffle and at least one access riser and manhole, or two chambers each with an access

riser and manhole.

B. Resilient Connectors:

1. ASTM C 923 (ASTM C 923M), of size required for piping, fitted into inlet and outlet

openings.

2.3 DISTRIBUTION BOXES

A. Precast concrete, single-chamber box and cover.

B. Made according to ASTM C 913, and for traffic loading according to ASTM C 890.

C. Resilient Connectors:

1. ASTM C 923 (ASTM C 923M), of size required for piping, fitted into inlet and outlet

openings.

2.4 NON-PRESSURE PIPE COUPLINGS

A. Comply with ASTM C 1173, elastomeric, sleeve-type, reducing or transition coupling, for joining

underground non-pressure piping. Include ends of same sizes as piping to be joined, with corrosion-

resistant-metal tension band and tightening mechanism on each end.

1. Sleeve Materials for Plastic Pipes:

a ASTM F 477, elastomeric seal or ASTM D 5926, PVC.

2. Sleeve Materials for Dissimilar Pipes:

a ASTM D 5926, PVC or other material compatible with pipe materials being joined.

2.5 TRENCH OR BED ABSORPTION-SYSTEM MATERIALS

A. Filter Material: ASTM D 448, Size No. 24, 3/4 to 2-1/2 inches (19 to 63 mm), washed, crushed stone or

gravel; or broken, hard-burned clay brick.

B. Filter Mat: Geotextile woven or spun filter fabric, in one or more layers, for minimum total unit weight

of 3 oz./sq. yd. (101 g/sq. m) or untreated building paper or similar porous material.

C. Cover for Distribution Pipe: Geotextile woven filter fabric, in one or more layers, for minimum total

unit weight of 3 oz./sq. yd. (101 g/sq. m).

D. Fill Material: Soil removed from trench.

2.6 ACCESSORIES

A. Access Hatches – Aluminum Type 6061-TS and shall be of the size and type shown on the drawings

B. Manhole Frames – Cast Iron Class Gray (CL35) conforming to ASTM A48 &/or Ductile Iron

Conforming to ASTM A536

C. Manhole Lids – Ductile Iron Conforming to ASTM A536

D. Steps – Steel reinforced copolymer polypropylene conforming to ASTM C478

E. Pulling irons – A36 Steel bar or embedded stranded cable capable of withstanding a pulling force of

5,000 lbs

F. Joint Material – Butyl sealant shall conform to ASTM C990

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 INSTALLATION

A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

B. Store precast concrete utility structures at the project site in a manner to prevent physical damage and

arranged so identification markings are visible

C. Contractor shall be responsible for locating and protecting all existing utilities, structures, etc., whether

indicated or not, which may be affected by the construction process.

D. All backfill shall be accomplished using approved material. Such material shall be free of debris, large

stones, organic material, and other deleterious substances.

E. Precast elements shall be installed in accordance with the contract plans and approved shop drawings.

F. Lift and support precast utility structures only at designated lifting and/or support points.

G. All construction activities shall conform to applicable OSHA standards for safety.
