Answer 1: A hazardous material assessment for the library has found there is no

asbestos containing material (ACM) in the building. A copy of the assessment

will be provided to the awarded bidder. No abatement report needs to be

provided.

Question 2: Sheet 1-AD1.10 shows we have to saw-cut in an area that is “Not In

contract” between grids 10 and 11. Will owner be providing the flooring to match the

existing for the patch and repair work in this area?

Answer 2: Contractor to provide and install new flooring to match existing.

Question 3: Is there a proprietary fire alarm and fire suppression contractor for this

project?

Answer 3: There is no proprietary contractor for the fire sprinkler work. The

existing fire alarm system is a proprietary Honeywell system.

Question 4: For any owner salvaged items will the owner be providing an on-site storage

area to house these materials?

Answer 4: 24 hour notice is to be given to owner for salvaged items. Salvaged

items will be handed over to the User and will be the responsibility of the User to

find a storage location. Contractor is to assistance/transport salvaged items to

storage area as indicated by User.

Question 5: Please confirm all items shown on the Specialty Equipment Schedule on

sheet 1-A1.50 will be owner furnished and owner installed.

Answer 5: Mark E-46 (Occupied/Recording Light) is the ONLY item on the

Specialty Equipment Schedule that is to be provided and installed by the

contractor. All other items are OFOI.

Question 6: Is the flooring/carpet material owner supplied?

Answer 6: No, Contractor to provide the flooring /carpet material. CFCI

Question 7: Could you tell me who the security company is for UNLV Lied Library

Knowledge Production?

Answer 7: There is no security company associated with the UNLV Lied Library.

All security devices are monitored by UNLV Campus Police.

II. Please remove the identified pages to Solicitation 5333-FG and replace with the 5333-FG Addendum No. 1 attached pages as noted in Simpson Coulter Studio Addendum Number 1, pages 1 through 5, as attached in this addendum.

GENERAL NOTES

1. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT ACCESSIBILITY GUIDELINES (ADAAG), ANSI A117.1, AND ALL LOCAL GOVERNING FIRE, LIFE SAFETY, AND BUILDING CODES, REQUIREMENTS AND REGULATIONS, LATEST ADOPTED EDITIONS.

2. ALL DIMENSIONS ARE TO THE FACE OF CONCRETE OR MASONRY FACE OR STUD WALLS, OR CENTERLINE OF COLUMNS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

3. ASBESTOS OR ASBESTOS CONTAINING PRODUCTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN ANY ASPECT OF THIS CONSTRUCTION (PROJECT).

4. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL DISCIPLINES AND ALL ASPECTS OF WORK. CONFLICTS AND DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT IMMEDIATELY.

5. ALL SURFACES WHICH RECEIVE A SPECIAL FINISH, FLOOR COVERING, COATINGS, HARDENERS, WATERPROOFING, ETC. SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFIC FINISH MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS. PRIOR TO APPLICATION OF A SPECIAL FINISH, A WRITTEN ACCEPTANCE OF THE SURFACE SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE ARCHITECT BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.

6. ALL SURFACES UPON WHICH PEDESTRIANS AND OCCUPANTS CAN WALK SHALL BE FINISHED SUCH THAT THE MINIMUM STATIC COEFFICIENT OF SLIDING FRICTION BETWEEN THE SURFACE AND NORMAL HARD-SOLED SHOES = 0.60 AND 0.80 FOR RAMPS.

7. ALL EXPOSED WELDS SHALL BE GROUND SMOOTH AND FINISHED WITH NO PITS FOR ARCHITECTURAL APPEARANCE TO A LEVEL ACCEPTABLE TO THE ARCHITECT.

8. ALL EXPOSED METAL SURFACES ARE TO BE PAINTED TO MATCH ADJACENT SURFACES.

9. PROVIDE SOLID BLOCKING AND ANCHORAGE FOR ALL CEILING AND WALL MOUNTED EQUIPMENT, ACCESSORIES, ELEMENTS, ETC.

10. PROVIDE SEALANT, CAULK AND SEPARATION AND/OR APPROPRIATE COATING BETWEEN ALL SIMILAR AND DISSIMILAR METALS AND MATERIALS.

11. ALL WALLS ARE TO RECEIVE SOUND INSULATION AND SHALL CONTINUE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE ROOF / FLOOR DECK, AND ARE TO BE COORDINATED WITH ALL ABOVE CEILING SYSTEMS TO AVOID CONFLICT.

12. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY DIMENSIONS OF ALL OPENINGS PRIOR TO ORDERING THE FABRICATION OF WINDOW AND DOOR FRAMES.

13. ALL DOOR AND FRAME ASSEMBLIES AND INSTALLATIONS SHALL BE IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LIFE SAFETY CODES - MOST CURRENT AND GOVERNING EDITION. ALL EXTERIOR DOORS SHALL BE COMPLETE WITH PROPER THRESHOLDS, ASTRAGALS, WEATHER STRIPPING, HOLDS AND DOOR BOTTOMS.

14. FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOCATIONS TO BE FINALIZED BY THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT. LOCATIONS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE IN LOCATION, AMOUNT AND TYPE.

15. COATINGS MUST COMPLY WITH ALL LOCAL AND FEDERAL LAWS GOVERNING VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS, AND ALL EPA RECOMMENDATIONS.

16. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT SCALE ANY DRAWING IN THIS PROJECT SET. IF A DISCREPANCY IS FOUND, THE ARCHITECT IS TO BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY. GRAPHIC SCALES (IF SHOWN) ARE PROVIDED FOR REFERENCE ONLY.

1. THE CONTRACTOR TO VISIT THE SITE IN ORDER TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH RXISTING CONDITIONS AND TO PERFORM ALL REQUIRED CABLING AND CABLE PATH STUDIES DEEMED NECESSARY.

3. LOCATE ALL DATA RECEPTACLES AS SHOWN IN NEW LOCATIONS.

4. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING CONTINUITY OF ALL EXISITNG SHARED POWER AND LOW VOLTAGE CIRCUITING DURING CUT-OVER AND INSTALLATION.

5. PROVIDE 15" SERVICE LOOP FOR LOW VOLTAGE CABLING SERVICING AT THE TR-BOARD END POINT PER OIT SPECIFICATIONS.

6. NEW DATA LOCATIONS TO FOLLOW ORIGINAL CABLE PATH UNLESS AN ALTERNATE PATH HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED IN THE PLANS. IF CABLE PATH IS PLANNED FOR RELOCATION CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR IDENTIFYING NEW SHORTEST LOW VOLTAGE PATH. EXISTING CABLE PATHS AND CONDUIT TO BE USED WHENEVER POSSIBLE. PATCH PANEL: ALL DATA PATCH PANELS FOR EXISTING BUILDINGS ARE TO BE A LEVITON QUICKPORT PATCH PANEL, (MODEL #49255-H48) OR EQUIVALENT, THAT HAS BEEN VIEWED, TESTED AND APPROVED BY NETWORK DEVELOPMENT AND ENGINEERING STAFF. EQUIVALENT PATCH PANELS MUST ACCEPT KEYSTONE CATEGORY 6 OR 6A JACKS, IN 2U, 48 PORT CONFIGURATION, AND MUST MEET OR EXCEED EIA/TIA AND ISO/IEC CATEGORY 6/CLASS E OR CATEGORY 6A/CLASS EA REQUIREMENTS. THEY MUST ALSO BE CAPABLE OF HOUSING KEYSTONE DATA JACKS FROM OTHER MANUFACTURERS, BE VIEWED, TESTED AND APPROVED BY NETWORK DEVELOPMENT AND ENGINEERING STAFF.
