Arias, CR 200o-03l<l21-001 OT, one of lhe most infamous criminal cases in recent US history, He prosecuted Arias on a charge of capital murder involving the death of ihe victim, Travis Alexander, From the beginning, the state indicated its intention 10 seek the death penalty. Arias was eventually sentenced to nalu ml life in prison. Her case is currently on appeal; she is represented by attorneys with the Maricopa Counly Public Defcnders office, The head or that office, Attorney James J. Haas, filed a bar charge concerning Martinez's publication of his book about the case emitted "Convicuon: The Untold Story of Pullil1g .Jodi Arias Behind Bars", Martinez published his book on December 27 � 2016, during the pendency of Arias' appeal, As of. this dale, it appears the Haas bar charge is still pending, Martinez, was also the subject of a bar charge by Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice. Martinez received an Order of Probable Cause for Admonition and Probation, which be appealed and so that matter is apparently also currently pending, During the course of the Arias trials, Murtinez engaged in at least two sexual relationships with "pseudo-journalists" who were commenting about the case on social and traditional mainstream media. He did so for his own selfish reasons, including so that they would publish certain non-public information uuu was damaging to Arias! defense - that he could not provide directly to the press himself. Documentary evidence exists that hi: secretly gave at least one of these pseudo-jou1:nalists access to his case file and 10 his office al the Maricopa County Attorney's Office (MCAO) during non-business hours- as well as to his MCAO computer.
