ABOUT ADA UNIVERSITY

ADA University is a world-class education institution dedicated to preparing innovative global leaders and to promoting useful collaborative research on diplomacy, public and international affairs, business, humanities and sciences, information technologies and systems engineering.

ADA University was established as Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy in 2006. In January 2014 we transformed into ADA University with four schools: the School of Public and International Affairs, School of Business, School of IT and Engineering, and School of Education.

The School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) aims to produce well-rounded responsible citizens who are committed to making substantive changes to better the world and the global community as a whole. In order to be successful, these citizens strive to be respectful of their history and culture, as well as that of others. We are committed to preparing (the – deleted) innovative leaders of the future.

SPIA offers graduate and undergraduate degree programs in International and Public Affairs.

All Undergraduate programs at the School of Public and International Affairs are four-year programs with an additional year of Intensive English Language preparation (if needed).

BACHELOR OF ARTS IN INTERNATIONAL STUDIES (BAIS)

BAIS is a four-year multi-disciplinary program that provides students with diverse skills and knowledge needed to meet the changes occurring in societies, governments and businesses. The curriculum of the program is designed in a way that students will learn to appreciate and understand world cultures, focus on themes of global significance, and master the varied disciplinary approaches employed to study international issues.

BACHELOR OF ARTS IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS (BAPA)

The BAPA degree prepares students for management careers in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors. This is a multidisciplinary program with a focus on policy formulation and its application, management, policy analysis, environmental management, and managing nonprofit sector as well as local government.

MASTER OF ARTS IN DIPLOMACY AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS (MADIA)

MADIA is a two-year master's degree in International Affairs and explores political, social, and economic issues across several disciplines. The curriculum of MADIA has been designed to prepare professionals in international affairs and diplomacy and to understand the complexity of global affairs.

CAPSTONE COURSE

At the end of the two-year graduate degree program students could take the capstone course that integrates their knowledge into a problem-solving context. The course gives students an opportunity to apply everything learned from the course work, internships, summer programs and past job experience toward completing a comprehensive report on an assigned topic.

LIFE ON CAMPUS

Our campus is an academic village where students learn together. The campus consists of five buildings: the Library, the Student Center, the School of Public and International Affairs, the School of Business and the Welcome Center. The Great Lawn connects these buildings and leads to outside classrooms, lounges designed as amphitheaters, gardens and a park.

At ADA University, students not only have access to an extraordinary education, but they are given the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular programs, athletics, clubs and organizations, as well as vibrant arts and culture.

CAREER MANAGEMENT CENTER (CMC)

Career Management Center (CMC) offers a wide range of career education services, programs and events designed to support students in the exploration of their personalities and career directions, while allowing them to make connections with potential employers and build the skills needed to achieve their professional goals.

Productive relationships with major local and international corporations, non-governmental and international organizations, Azerbaijani embassies abroad and foreign missions in Baku allow CMC to assure that each ADA University graduate student has an opportunity to complete an internship during the summer break.

CMC success is demonstrated by the fact that most students have job offers by graduation. This year, CMC recorded 91% employment rate within three months of graduation.

GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

For graduate students, each program sets aside a certain percentage of the tuition revenues to award the incoming class with merit-based scholarships.

Named after Samad Vurgun, this scholarship is distributed among the admitted students by the Financial Aid Committee according to the interview results and test scores.

Eligible students receive a tuition waiver for the first semester of study at ADA University. No single waiver exceeds 50 percent of the tuition fee for one semester.

INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP NAMED AFTER ALIMARDAN BAY TOPCHUBASHOV

ADA University has launched an International Fellowship program meant to prepare global leaders who have a strong commitment to serve a public cause.

International Fellowship Requirements:

Ÿ Applicants should first be admitted into ADA University. Only admitted and enrolled students in good academic standing are eligible for the Fellowship.

Ÿ Applicants must have previous work experience in public sector and/or commitment to serve in public sector.Ÿ Undergraduate fellows must obtain a minimum annual GPA level of 2.5 for the continuation of the fellowship. Ÿ Graduate fellows must obtain a minimum semester GPA level of 3.0 for the continuation of the fellowship. Ÿ Recipients are expected to actively engage in University community.

ADA University offers this fellowship to international students applying for graduate and undergraduate programs. International Fellowship covers the tuition fee, housing, and books. Fellowship recipients are expected to cover all other expenses.

AWARDS

HAJI ZEYNALABDIN TAGHIYEV AWARD

The purpose of the Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev (HZT) award is to transform the university into a community where a sense of citizenship and social responsibility is upheld and endorsed. This prestigious award promotes such values as civic engagement, social responsibility, teamwork and caring for others.

The HZT Award is offered in the amount of 5,000 AZN divided among the three groups of students whose projects have been selected as finalists.

First Place: 2500 AZN I Second Place: 1500 AZN I Third Place: 1000 AZN

EDUCATION LOAN

All Azerbaijani students are eligible for education loans given on favorable terms. The annual interest rate is 5% and the repayment period is 10 years.

HOW TO APPLY

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

Citizens of Azerbaijan interested in undergraduate programs are required to apply through the State Students Admission Commission (SSAC/TQDK) by using their SSAC/TQDK or SAT I exam scores.

International candidates must submit the following documents in order to be considered for admission:
