Introduction
a) In the event of the DME or VOR being unavailable, this procedure is basedon the FA beacon.
b) It is also used by the Approach Control to grant clearances outside the SIDand also to aircraft not being able to maintain the SID climb gradient andwhich have no alternate SID.
For each RWY, sectors are defined with minimum altitudes which should bereached before entering these sectors.
c) Departure clearance will consist of :
- a departure RDL,
- an altitude which should take the corresponding sectorization to the RWYinto account.
d) Moreover further clearances should also take this into account.
Outbound RWY 04
The initial climb (1) gradient in the 299° - 042° of TAF or FA up to the minimumaltitude required for the following sector, when changing sectors.
a) Direct routes departures from TAHITI FAA’A on a RDL comprised betweenthe 299° - 042° of TAF or FA are possible without any restrictions other thanthose indicated by (1) as far as ensuring safety with regard to obstacles isconcerned.
b) Direct routes departures from TAHITI FAA’A on a RDL comprised between229° and 299° of TAF or FA are possible whenever the pilot can maintain aminimum climb gradient of 8% up to 5500 ft (overflying Mt Tohivea ALT 1207 m ).
c) Direct routes departures from TAHITI FAA’A to the other sectors are notpossible with regard to climb gradients. This type of departure should adhereto the rules relative to minimum altitudes of published sectors.
(1) Theoretical climb gradient 3.9% determined by an obstruction (crane in theharbour) altitude 211 ft on top located at 1840 m from the DER and at 550 mto the right of the RWY centre line.If this obstruction is not taken into account the theoretical climb gradient is3.3%.
Outbound RWY 22
The initial climb gradient in the 219°-229° sector of TAF or FA up to theminimum required altitude for the following sector when changing.
a) Direct routes departures from TAHITI FAA’A on a RDL comprised between219° and 229° of TAF or FA are possible without any restriction as far asensuring safety with regard to obstacles is concerned.
b) Direct routes departures from TAHITI FAA’A on a RDL comprised between229° and 299° of TAF or FA are possible whenever the pilot can maintain aminimum climb gradient of 8% up to 5500 ft (overflying of Mt Tohivea ALT1207 m ).
c) Direct routes departures from TAHITI FAA’A to the other sectors are notpossible. This type of departure should adhere to the rules relative tominimum altitudes of published sectors.

d) poursuivre alors jusqu’à l’atterrissage,

relevant aerodrome.
- upon arrival, after receiving clearance to join aerodrome traffic the pilot-in-
command must follow this clearance and proceed flight until landing.
- upon arrival before receiving joining clearance, the pilot-in-command must:
a) from a height greater than the top of the aerodrome traffic circuits, inspect the
aerodrome’s air socks and condition of the manoeuvering area’s surface, in
order to decide which runway to use and to ensure that there is no apparent
danger of using the aerodrome,
b) observe the position of other aircraft in the aerodrome traffic,
c) join at the beginning of downwind at the height of the aerodrome traffic circuit,
ensuring visual separation with the aircraft already in the aerodrome traffic
