presentation, HUSSH representative, Dr. Ha Minh Thanh made a speech about her university’s Oriental department and e-learning status in her school. Like HUST, students from HUSSH also showed interests of e-learning proven by the statistics presented during the workshop. Unfortunately, due to the poor condition of infrastructure in HUSSH, students couldn’t take part in the course frequently. Dr. Thanh also suggested that studying content should be varied more, so that students from different level could choose their most suitable course.

All the guests then experienced the ACU Leaning Management System (LMS) by the presentation from ACU’s Senior Program Officer Mr. Sa Wookhwan. They all found that it was very easy to utilize system. Then, they also had the chance to discuss about what problems they would meet when applying the e-learning system in their Universities. All of them were carefully reviewed with the help from ACU’s Deputy Director Dr. Park Sohwa. She also suggested what kind of help ACU could support to Vietnamese Universities in terms of launching Korean language

courses through the e-learning system.

At the end, ACUAS had a short interview with Dr. Luu Tuan Anh from HUSSH and Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duong from ULIS. They highly appreciated the workshop, especially the greeting of HUST and ACU, and the experience achieving from it, which showed them their own difficulties and the suggested solutions from ACU. Finally, they suggested that ACU should have some tours to their school to experience the studying environment there.

Sripatum University or SPU is the leading university for the new generation. The name of Sripatum means “Source of knowledge blooming like a lotus” which brings the intellect, skills, joy and morality to every SPU member.

SPU is among the first and top 5 private universities in Thailand. ?It was established in 1970 with 4 campuses across Thailand. Currently, SPU offers over 100 academic degree programs at undergraduate and graduate level, including Master and Doctoral degree programs. SPU focuses on utilizing e-Learning to supplement teaching and learning throughout all the courses taught at the university. As a result, SPU has produced over 80,000 qualified graduates in the past four decades. It encourages students to graduate in order to fully and proudly serve society and the nation.

In the past 5 years, SPU has extensively used e-Learning in blended learning mode. All in-class teaching courses at undergraduate level are required to provide students with video class recording, quizzes and online teaching materials on its Learning Management System (LMS - Moodle). In addition, many lecturers use Facebook as a main class communication tool. As a result of this strong and ongoing operation, in 2011, SPU has been awarded the National Best Practice in e-Learning Management at Higher Education Level by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Thailand.

SPU has also been recognized internally in many aspects. SPU has been asked directly by UNESCO to translate the 2012 Paris Open Educational Resources (OER) Declaration into Thai language. It has been the first private higher education institution to be listed in YouTube Education in Thailand. It is also among the first Thai universities to be listed in iTunes University. Moreover, SPU represents Thailand Higher Education Institutions alongside the Ministry of Education (MOE) in ASEAN Cyber University (ACU) Establishment Project Steering Committee.

Success of SPU in online education comes from the concept of Online Education Ecology. At SPU, there are three factors making online education a reality. First, a strong management and clear policy from the top level management, as well as strong cooperation from all the schools and departments involved. Second, a reliable information technology infrastructure provided by the ICT Center. Lastly, the online education change manager, which is called Office of Online Education (OOE).

OOE has strategically launched three unique e-Learning approaches. The first one is a complimentary e-Learning. It focuses on the use of e-Learning resources to compliment knowledge. The second approach is supplementary use of e-Learning tools. It means the use of e-Learning to supplement and assist Blended-Learning environment. And the last one is ‘replacement e-Learning’ which means using e-Learning in fully online environment.

OOE has also organized variety of training classes for SPU’s lecturers to enhance their ability of ICT utilizing. Nowadays, SPU’s lecturers prepare and supply teaching materials through SPU LMS, to let students learn not only in classroom but also in the cyber space. Lecturers and students teach, learn and communicate through the e-Classroom, or Learning Management System (SPU LMS), a platform that helps students to learn, study and review the teaching content in the cyber world, anytime, anywhere at their own convenience. SPU staff and students can buy SPU interactive e-Books (SPU i-eBook), which provide lots of rich interactive features, including searchable Thai text, embedded videos, etc. These textbooks are created by lecturers themselves and their interactive eBooks are viewable on all devices. Using e-Books greatly reduces the load of school bag for students. Moreover, because of lecturer-self-created content, the viewpoint will be more direct and easier for students to understand.

Evidently, SPU online education ecology has been a very effective tool for e-Learning of the new era. A study by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Keerati Chayakulkheeree has shown promising statistics. His research shows that after application of SPU blended learning, students’ average score increased up to 40%. And students’ satisfaction on e-Learning is up to 4.4 out of 5. This study clearly shows that blended learning in SPU is a proven method. ?

In our opinion, SPU online education ecology is vital to our success in studying. Not only we can access our classroom online, do quiz, read or watch materials, watch class-recording videos, submit homework anytime anywhere, but we can also travel light, don’t have to carry loads of bags and books anymore. So, thank you SPU for making all these for students like us…. CHEERS!

CRISCELLE MOYAI'm Criscelle Moya, 24, from the Philippines. I

attended ACU Ambassadorial Scholar Program: Challenges of the ASEAN- ROK Issues from Young Generation's Perspectives last Oct 26- 31, 2014 representing the University of the Philippines. I've attended several international student and leadership conferences but this program was the most intense yet most rewarding experienced.

What i've learned on the courses I enrolled in ACU- LMS and lectures during my stay in Korea will be cherish forever. ACU- LMS offered me a brand new way of learning experience. The courses offered were informative and LMS is so conducive for learning. E-learning is not a new way to me, my university is my country's number 1 e-learning institution and received several international awards on e-learning practices but ACU LMS is a very new way. Lessons were presented in a more colorful and specific way. Every topic was narrated and discussed further, examples given was also realistic and precise.

ACU team also was a bonus to my fun experience they were all smart and passionate people, my co-participants brought me into the whole ASEAN. They were all amazing and intelligent. Korea offers a lot more, the technology and environment was very inviting.

Currently I finished my degree, B.A Multimedia Studies and married to Engr. Clifford Pobre.

I'm so thankful and proud to be a part of ACU. Good job ACU!
