The actuar project (Goulet, 2007) is a package of Actuarial Science functionsfor R. Although various packages on CRAN provide functions thatmay be of use to actuaries, actuar aims to serve as a central location formore specifically actuarial functions and data sets. The project was officiallylaunched in 2005 and is under active development.
