It may sound repetitious but I can only say, “To God be the glory!” again for another great evangelistic anniversary ser- vice that we had this morning. Thousands of souls were able to hear the Gospel and see a church where the Bible is preached and Christ is proclaimed. I always consider it as a blessing to celebrate our Anniversary by bringing more souls to the Saviour. Recalling what had transpired for 33 years in our church, all we can do is to thank and praise God as we acknowledge His guidance, goodness and grace. Indeed, His guidance has enabled us to reach 33 years. His goodness has worked for many souls saved, families changed, churches established, mission works supported, and buildings constructed. His grace has led us through amidst many difficulties and testings. Hence, what we are and what we have today are all because of God! May we keep on depending on Him as He entrusts us more years as a church. Finally, I want to congratulate you for your hard work this Anniversary week. May I encourage every member of the church to keep on being faithful in the Lord! May we be resolved to in- volve more in loving God and in serving Him through the church. I love you in the Lord! DR. Through the efforts of Division C and our Campus Ministry, God blessed the evangelistic meeting last

February 24 at Southville 5A National High School in Biñan, Laguna. Part of it was a stage play that our very own young people rendered. Through classroom evangelism and the evangelistic meeting, 470 souls got saved that night.

More than 700 police trainees were able to hear the Gospel last February 15, through our preacher,

Rev. Jun Garapan. These are the PNTI-ITG trainees who are on their 6 month-rigid training at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba, Laguna. The preaching was held before they started their rehearsal for their recognition as police trainees.

A Chronicle of God’s Fruitful Work through His People’s Involvement1997

Dr. Ed encouraged the members to continue building by faith amidst oppositions. It was during this year that a new three-storey building with a mezzanine and roof deck, currently called the “New Building,” was started on two ad-joining lots purchased the previous year. The average of 23 weekly baptisms was recorded. The Baptist Heritage Bible Seminary became Baptist Heritage Bible College. A four-door apartment was also bought which now houses the church staff and the orphanage.

1998CBBC reached its highest average attendance record

of 1,800 during this year. Though only 50% of the “New Building” was completed, the auditorium became usable for the church’s 19th Anniversary. By the end of the year, the Church had a total record of 7,102 first time visitors and 1,477 baptisms.

1999With two decades of God’s faithfulness, the Church

prayed to have 3,000 first time visitors (FTVs) on its 20th anniversary and by God’s grace, 3,523 came. The “area soulwinning” set-up became more extensive in evangelism and discipleship. Three new churches were established, three new soulwinning areas were added, and two missions were started. CBBC also held its 1st National Baptist Youth Convention and more than 500 Baptist youth from different churches all over the Philippines came. Since then, CBBC has been annually hosting the event and many Baptist young people are being challenged, changed, and called into full time service.

2000The Church aimed for 5,000 FTVs on its anniversary. With

much faith, prayer and hard work, God gave 5,094. The “New Building” was finally completed. When the Church moved to the new auditorium, it hit the mark of an average attendance of 2,000. New ministries were started which grew spiritually and numerically.

2001CBBC reached an average attendance of 2,300. On

its 22nd anniversary, it gathered 7,433 people. A total of 10,800 FTVs was recorded during this year. Meanwhile, the Church accommodated more than 400 pastors and preach-ers from all over the country in the Pastors’ College hosted by Dr. Clarence Sexton together with his Crown College staff and students.

2002Fired by the success of the previous years, Dr. Ed chal-

lenged the Church to reach 10,000 in attendance for the an-niversary. Later, he announced that God could help them reach 12,000 instead. By the grace and power of God, 15,383 people were present on that anniversary Sunday!

2003The Church grew to an average of 2,250 in its atten-

dance. On its 24th anniversary, CBBC aimed for 16,000 at-tendees, but a total of 16,091 came for the two consecu-tive services in just one Sunday. The weekly baptisms have reached 35. The Church also purchased a new property--a four-door apartment--that now serves as the College Ladies and Academy Staff’s Dormitory.

2004CBBC feasted on 25 years of God’s faithfulness. CBBC’s

Silver anniversary had a grand total of more than 30,000 visitors in a month-long, five-Sunday evangelistic celebra-tion. The average attendance was 2,000. Total number of FTVs reached 35, 443 and the total number of baptisms was 1,282. The Book “It Can Be Done” narrating the history and miracle story of the church was published.

2005On the first week of this year, the Church hosted the

monumental Fresh Start Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference. An evangelistic service on the last night brought an esti-mated 18,000 visitors flooding the auditoriums, classrooms and the subdivision street. This encouraged many Pastors and Preachers to do fervent soulwinning in their respective church areas. A two-storey house formerly rented as the College Men’s Dormitory was also acquired. The “Seven-Stage Discipleship Program” was launched to feed spiritu-ally the growing number of converts more systematically. The Anniversary attendance was 15,990. The average attendance was 2,214. The total number of FTVs was 38,946, while that of baptisms was 1,726. Two mission works were organized as churches; in Tarlac City under Pastor Alex Bartolome on July 13, and that of Pastor Allan Earnhart in Manila on December 8.

2006CBBC continued to strengthen its members with its

theme, “Grow in Grace.” CBBC bought another property and reconstructed it to become the “Dr. F.R. Hernandez

Building,” in memory of Pastor Fortunato Hernandez, the faithful “Filipino Baptist Patriarch” and the father-in-law of Dr. Ed. Likewise, the edifice which used to be the Pastor’s house in front of the New Building has been under renova-tion for a three-story building that will serve as an extension of the CBBC Auditorium. The Anniversary attendance was 15,769. Average attendance was 2,650. The total number of FTVs was 26,949, and that of baptisms was 2,272.

2007CBBC adopted “Expand Our Horizon” as its year’s

theme. Another property at the back of the Ladies’ Dormitory was purchased. The first batch of graduates of the “Seven Stage Discipleship Program” was presented as disciplers. Attendance reached its highest record of 3,009 on a regular Sunday morning service on November 4, 2007. CBBC expanded in its ministries, missions and properties. The CBBC-Mission in Bauan, Batangas was organized as a church under Pastor Ed dela Peña. The blue print of the Baptist City was presented to the Church and members prayed for its realization. Other ministry highlights of the year included the following: airing of the first television

and radio broadcast, the Old Baptist Voice; Anniversary attendance – 14,766; Average attendance – 2,667; Total FTVs – 22,346; Total Baptisms – 2,134.

2008Welcoming the year’s theme “Great Faith in 2008,”

CBBC hosted a conference for the Pastors and workers with guest speakers Dr. Dick Webster and Dr. Mickey Carter. CBBC celebrated its 29th Anniversary with 10,265 FTVs sur-passing its goal of 10,000. In March, a team of young people from Cleveland Baptist Church visiting CBBC for a mission trip had good reports of being challenged and revived for the Lord’s vineyard. In September, emphasis was put on winning the lost to Christ as CBBC held its Stewardship Conference Soulwinning Clinic. CBBC Mission in Bulacan through the leadership of Pastor Cris Santiago was orga-nized as a church on May 27.

2009CBBC heralded the year with a trailblazing Soulwinning

Conference hosted by Evangelist Dr. Mike Wells of Ocean Springs, Missouri. Prophetic Revivals with Dr. Larry Clayton

were held in preparation for the month-long 30th Church Anniversary Celebration. God indeed showed His power and grace when 20,166 FTVs came. In April, Leadership Conference was held as well as the National Baptist Youth Convention 10 with the theme “Making A Diffe-rence.” In June, four CBBC preachers were ordained as “Reverends.” The mission work in Tanza, Cavite under Pastor Rey Baugan was organized into a church on May 5. In September, “Project Nehemiah -The Vision Unfolds” was launched as the perspective of the New 3-storey Building was presented to the Church. In December, two new areas were added and the two morning services officially started.

2010The entire Church family followed in stride with the

theme ‘Revive Us Again in 2010.” The Lord gave the Church 14,685 FTVs in a month-long 31st Anniversary Celebration. The Church held a feeding program on March 12, and 200 precious kids were fed physically and spiritually. More chil-dren, as well as their families, were reached through the two weeks of Daily Vacation Bible School held in the month of May. It recorded a total of 2,564 professions of faith. The

SALAMAT, DIYOS, SA GAWAIN MO SA CBBCBeata Agustin

Church’s average attendance also continued to grow and reached 2,869. The total number of first time visitors was 22, 224 and that of baptisms was 1,502. The Taiwan Outreach in Kaohsiung produced two other outreaches in far county Jhong-Li and Tai-chung. Meanwhile, CBBC sent-out a preacher to start an outreach in Singapore. Fur-thermore, the mission work in Davao was organized as a Church in December.

2011With the theme “Victorious Christian Living,” the Lord

has guided the Church monthly with faith-strengthening Sun-day School lessons. The famous Medical Missions Outreach team headed by Dr. Bradley Edmondson paved way for 1600

professions of faith in the event alone and enhanced invita-tion efforts for the 32nd Church Anniversary. The anniver-sary event produced 10,608 FTVs. CBBC mission in Tanauan, Batangas under Rev. Oliver America had its Church organiza-tion on February 25. The Discipleship program celebrated its eighth Commencement exercises with the aim to multiply God-enabled disciplers. Likewise, one of the Church’s minis-try outreaches under the Moral Recovery program in the Cor-rectional Institute for Women (CIW) celebrated its first year. In December, the church enjoyed a family camp in Rizal Re-creation Center. As the year ended, the Pastor enjoined the efforts of the homebuilders in dawn-watch for prayer and thanksgiving, which is a wonderful act of worship to the Lord of the work.

2012 The very first day of the New Year was welcomed with

a Church Service, setting the mood to be attuned more than ever to God. This year, the challenge for each and everyone is to be “Resolved to Involve.” Over the years, the Lord has made a thriving Church out of CBBC and God’s people are encouraged to have an attitude of thankfulness that is manifested by involving in God’s eter-nal work. The Pastor has emphasized more than ever the need for equipping the ministry workers by hosting the National Pastors and Workers Conference with the theme “Back to Basic.” The year was also greeted with divided Sunday School classes for the Adults, and the exclusive evening Sunday School fellowships. This was followed by instilling Bible-based principles for couples through a Dinner Fellowship during Pastor Ed and Ma’am Dhel’s wedding anniversary.

The weeks and services in February preceding the Anniversary Sundays were devoted to prayers and

revivals. Praise God for another fruitful year of involve-ment!

CBBC continues to be an emblem of God’s Great Glory. Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. – Ephesians 3:21. These two anniversary weeks and in all the Church services, there have been great rejoicing in heaven over souls that got saved and were ministered to. Members are challenged to keep the fire burning and serve faithfully in the year ahead!

Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children,

shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength,

and his wonderful works that he hath done.
