ACTIVITY : GROUP 3 ( PPG / MATHS GROUP 1)

Setting : At the Kopitiam Coffee shop

Ain : Kamala, Balqis, Julia , Mimi , Ai Qi, here! (wave at them)

Kamala : Sorry we are late .

Ain : Never mine , I just arrived 15 minutes ago. Can we order now?

Balqis : Yes please.

Julia : So how were your holidays?

Mimi : It was great, last week my parents and I went to Pulau Pangkor.

Ai Qi : Can you tell us how was your holiday, Mimi ?

Mimi : For your information, Pulau Pangkor is also called ‘Paradise Island’ and it was

truly a paradise.The island is neat and beautiful, the beach is beautiful.The

white sand beaches, crystal blue sea, it is truly my paradise.

Ain : You really make me want to go there right now!

Mimi : I rented a resort called Nipah Bay Villa,the resort is so nice.

Julia : How nice is it?

Mimi : It has everything, spa, pools, excellent food and not to mention a good room

service.

Murni : What other activities do you do there?

Mimi : We went to jungle trekking at Mongrave forest. It has the same function as

Dune in Europe, protecting the land from the sea. After a long jungle trekking

adventure, we went back to the parking lot where we parked our bicycle.

Ai Qi : You cycled there?

Mimi : Yes. It was cheap and eco-friendly too. I enjoyed the view on the way there. I

saw a group of monkeys while we riding our bicycles. You should go there.

Julia : I will , in my next holiday. For your information, I went to Cameron Highlands



last week.

Kamala : I heard a lot of story about Cameron Highlands but never been there before.

Can you please tell me about it.

Julia : Of course Kamala. Cameron Highland is about 1200 meters above sea leveland it is cold and fresh.

Ai Qi : Where did you stay?

Julia : I stayed at Equatorial Hotel in Tanah Rata. It is a good hotel , I recommend.

Kamala : Tell us more

Julia : Lot of fresh flowers , vegetables and fruits are cultivated due to the weather

here . I went to the Raju’s Strawberry Park , where I could plucked them

instantly and will be charged according to the weight. After that we went to the

Cameron Valley Tea Plantation . No trip to Cameron Highlands is complete

without a trip to the tea plantations. This is one of the main attraction that's got

to be in your "must see" list. You can visit the factories to learn about the tea

making process and you can also sit down and enjoy a cup of tea at the cafe.

The view overlooking the plantations is beautiful and perfect for the picture

album. From there we went to the flower nurseries at Bertam Valley . At the

flower gardens and nurseries, be dazzled with the mix of colours and species

being grown here. The common flowers grown here are roses, carnations,

chrysanthemum, dahlia, geranium, fuschia and gladioli. You can buy cheapflowers at these nurseries or any market around the highland.

Balqis : That’s great. You make me want to be there now. Kamala where did you go for

your vacation?

Kamala: I went to Pulau Langkawi to visit my aunty. I took this opportunity to see around

the island. Mimi : Where did you take the ferry?

Kamala : I took at Kuala Perlis. It took about 45 minutes to reach Pulau Langkawi.

Julia : Where did you go ?

Kamala : My aunt brought me around the Island. My god Langkawi’s beaches and

islands are some of the most beautiful in Southeast Asia, white sand glistening

in the light of the tropical sun, calmed by the gentle sea breeze as gulls and

eagles soar in the sky. Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah are the most

popular attraction due to its beautiful sandy beach that faces a pleasant and



gentle sea. My aunt also brought me to the Langkawi Cable Car near Pantai

Kok which takes visitors all the way up to Mount Mat Cincang, Langkawi’s

second highest peak. It was amazing .

Ai Qi : If I want to go for shopping, which place should I go?

Kamala: Langkawi is a shopping heaven for duty-free goods from around the world and

Kuah happens to be Langkawi’s main location for shopping outlets. Perfume

stores, cigar shops, confectionary outlets, wine boutiques and other retail

venues are a dime a dozen in this quarter of Langkawi Island.

Ai Qi : Okay , I will go there for my next vacation.

Kamala : You should go there , I recommend you. Ai Qi where did you spend for your

holiday?

Ai Qi : I went to Malacca with my family.

Balqis : Malacca is my hometown and I live in Ayer Keroh.

Ai Qi : Is it ? I went there. It is home to a hotchpotch of attractions such as the

Melaka Zoo and the Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary, this area is mostly rural.

There’s not much dining, nightlife and shopping but the few parks here are

must-see sightseeing attractions. Am I right Balqis?

Balqis : You are correct , Ai Qi. Beside Ayer Keroh, where did you go?

Ai Qi : I went for Historical Malacca Tour . We started our visit to St. Peter’s Church

which was built in 1710, the oldest in the country that is still being used today.

Then, we drove past the 17th Century Chinese Hill before stopping at its foothill

to view the Sultan’s Well before driving through a Portuguese settlement. We

ended our visit at the banks of the Malacca River. My god, visiting Malacca is

like a journey back in time to witness the adventures and discoveries during

Malacca's golden age. You have to go there.

Mimi : Why don’t we go there next week ? Next week is a school holiday. We can liveat Balqis house , can we Balqis.

Balqis : Yes you can. We should make a good plan for it. Ain , you are not taking much

part in out conversation.

Ain : No , I just listen to what all of you are talking about and I feel it is interesting. I



should listen rather than talking.

Mimi : Oh! Yes Ain where did you go for your holiday?

Ain : I went to Pulau Redang.

Balqis : Pulau Redang , it is the place that I want to go after this holiday. Can you tell

me more about it Ain?

Ain : Pulau Redang is an island of flourishing beauty boasts of its blue waters, green

jungles, and white sands creating an irresistible paradise that you should never

miss to indulge. There are two beautiful beaches in this island, the Pasir

Panjang which is referred by tourists as the Long Beach located on the eastern

portion of the island and Teluk Dalam Kecil which is located around the cove

up in the northeastern part of Redang. I stayed at Berjaya Redang Beach

Resort.

Ai Qi : Sound interesting to me.

Ain : Of course Ai Qi. Pulau Redang is the suitable place for relaxing because it is far

away from the city life , although it is not the place for shopping.

Balqis : Can you tell me more, Ain ?

Ain : Well Balqis , as you know Pulau Redang is declared as a marine park. This has

paved way for tourists and visitors to engage and experience the island’s

marine life. I went for snorkeling , where I can enjoy hand feeding the fish. It is

amazing and this is my first experience feeding them. If you good at scuba

diving , you can joint the team. You can find many diving boats available

cruising between the islands.

Balqis : That’s good . I love scuba diving.

Ain : If that so , you should go there. By the way , where did you go for your

vacation, Balqis?

Balqis : I spend my holidays at Genting Highland , with my family. I stayed at Awana

Hotel.

Kamala : I have been there before and it is a nice place for you to get some rest.

Balqis : It’s true Kamala. Beside that I also enjoy my holiday over there as I went to the



theme park. A trip to Genting Highlands would be incomplete without the

adrenaline rush at the wildly popular Genting Theme Park. We played at both

park , indoor and outdoor . I also went to the Snow World to experience a

winter wonderland. Lots of thing you can do there such as jungle trekking,

archery, flying fox and not to say gambling as it has a casino over there. It is a

nice place.

Ai Qi : My god it is 6.00 pm now. I have to go as I promise my parents to come back

before 7.00pm. It is nice to talk to all of you. Don’t forget about our plan for next

week. Bye , see you.

Mimi : I think we should go now.

Kamala, Ain, Balqis and Julia : Yes. Bye, see you.
