Kalamata,20January2017IntroductionK.A.NE., in the almost 9 years of its existence offers a wide range of services toyouth. Through youth work both local and international, we develop socio-educational activities like youth learning mobility, youth exchanges, seminars,trainingcourses,counseling,coaching,conferences,mentoringandinformation.Through the Youth Centre of Kalamatawe are offering for free, approximately 45workshops and lessons perweek, for 800 people, one open seminar perweek (incollaborationwith experts and civil society organisations), and a series of culturalactivities.Through the Kalamata Street Festival we offer opportunities to young artists topresenttheirworktoabigaudience,tonetwork,toprofessionalizetheirartsandtoimprove their employability aswell as to initiate creativity in an international anddiverseenvironment.Inaddition,K.A.NE.isofferingtrainingservicesforteachersandeducatorsaswellasErasmus+ courses for youth, youthworkers, social workers, young entrepreneurs,teachers,VETlearners,VETtrainersetc.Our trainingmethodologies are a combination of formal, non-formal and informallearningactivitieswiththeuseoftechnologyandscience.Intotal,sinceitsestablishmentin2008,K.A.NEhas

Allof theaboveare in linewithourvision to fosteryouthmotivationandsupportthemintakinginitiativesandbecomingmoreactivecitizens,aswellasourmissionistoprovideeducationalandtrainingopportunitiesforyouthandpeoplethatworkintheyouthfield,aswellasfightagainstanykindofdiscrimination,fosterinterculturalandsocialdevelopment,andpromotesocial inclusionandequality,particularly for


young people. At organizational level, we promote cooperation among local,regionalandinternationalorganizationsandpublicbodies.2016wasayearthatallowedtheorganizationtogrowandexpanditsactivitiesevenmore,acquiringpartnersfrommanydifferentcountriesin4continents,exchangingexperiences and goodpractices for supporting youth facingdifficult situations (eg.Young people of migrant origin, Roma, people with disabilities, etc) andimplementingmore activities in the field ofWork-Based learning,with a focus onhow this can support youth to gain competences that will allow them to have abetterpositioninthelabourmarket.Closing another successful year, we are setting our goals for 2017. JANUARY201609/01/2016 – 10/01/2016: 2-day training of the 12 young migrants that wouldparticipateasmenteesinthepilotphaseoftheMentorPowerproject.TrainerswereMsMarilianaDiamantaki andMs Sofia Konstantinea, under the supervision ofMsFotiniArapi.MentorPowerisaprojectthataimstopilotamodelof"EngagementMentoring",aninnovativeandsustainableprogramformigrantyouthaged16-25, foratwo-yearperiod(2015-2017).Theobjectiveistofacilitatetheirintegrationinsociallifeandinthelabourmarket,throughmentoring.

TheprojectissupportedbytheErasmus+program,KA2/StrategicPartnershipsinthefield of Youth, of the European Commission and gathers a consortium ofinternationalpartners(France,Greece,Norway,Spain,SwitzerlandandTurkey).

Entry to the events was, asalways,free.TheKalamataStreetFestivalfeaturedmorethan20parallelevents,combiningyouthcreativity,intergenerationalcooperationandpreservationoftheculturalheritageofour prefecture. The festival hosted theatre performances, concerts, dance groups,sportingactivities,educationalactionsforchildrenandyoungpeople,short-filmandvideo-artscreenings,paintingexhibitions,artisticinstallationsandanenvironmentalstand. It also provided young creators, artists and athletes with a space forexpression, and motivate them to participate in more activities in the future,bringingequivalentrecognitiontotheirplaceoforigin.Thoughthemainpartof theFestival tookplaceat theendof July, the9th festivalevents begun in April.
