Activ8 bariatric bed developed for applications incorporating…The Activ8 bariatric acute bed incorporates a range of features developed specifically for the bariatric critical care environment. Utilising state of the art design for ease of use and flexibility, the new Activ8 bariatric beds meet all current European requirements and standards for medical devices.The beds feature a low mattress platform and split side rails to facilitate safe and easy ingress and egress from the bed. Standard functions include auto regression for pressure reduction in the femoral and leg sections, and cardiac chair position for improved patient comfort. Head and foot ends are easy to remove, giving fast and unencumbered access to patients for emergency treatment.

Both models feature a lateral tilt movement used for certain clinical treatment procedures and to assist with moving and handling. The beds also incorporate a weigh scale facility for checking patient weights to assist with establishing medication dosages.

WIDTH VARIANTSThe Acitv8 Bariatric mattress platform is designed around anthropometric studies of

bariatric patients. With a width of 100cm, the platform provides maximum levels of comfort for most patients. The 108cm overall bed width ensures safe bed movements.

The bed can be extended to a width of 120cm for more challenging applications.

MATTRESS PLATFORMOne-touch controls for positioning include auto contouring, cardiac chair,

Trendelenburg, reverse Trendelenburg, CPR, length extension and bed egress, helping with self sufficiency and assisting nurses and carers.

DUAL AUTOREGRESSIONMattress platform section autoregression significantly reduces

pressure and shear forces, improving tissue viability.

LATERAL TILTDouble sided lateral tilt facilitates lateral rotation therapy and provides easy access for daily patient care procedures. Foot

control pedal gives nursing staff both hands free when adjusting the mattress platform. Safety feature ensures tilt cannot be

activated without side rails in the correct position.

UNIVERSAL ACCESSORY HOLDERSCan be mounted at head and foot ends

to accommodate the use of accessories.

STABLE 4 COLUMN CONSTRUCTIONMattress platform rises and lowers on four electrically operated columns ensuring stability

and load capacity. Resilient, non-absorbent materials facilitate cleaning procedures.

SPLIT SIDE RAILSPatients are fully protected by split folding side

rails designed around robust operating systems for strength and reliability. The innovative design

ensures optimum protection for patients in all positions. Side rails drop to below the level of the mattress platform to facilitate egress and ingress.

LATERAL ROTATION THERAPYDual sided lateral tilt function and intelligent nurse

control panel offers a range of configuration options together with lateral rotation therapy,

which is especially beneficial for patients at risk of developing postoperative respiratory complications

and pressure ulcers.

HIGH QUALITY, DURABLE CASTORSSpecial 150mm diameter castors assist with bed handling and transport, even at maximum load. Castors are manufactured form permanent non-marking materials and feature plastic covers to simplify cleaning and protect the wheel bearings.
