PARTS OF THE

COMPUTER

Computer

A Computer is a system of hardware which can accept data (observation, facts & concepts) in prescribed form (i.e. in a specified sequence) and which can process the data according to set of instruction that are fed into it & supply the results of the processing in a specified format.

Monitor

The monitor displays the video and graphics information generated by the computer through the video card. Monitors are very similar to televisions but display information at a much higher quality.

keyboard

The set of typewriter-like keys that enables you to enter data into a computer. Computer keyboards are similar to electric-typewriter keyboards but contain additional keys

CPU (Central Processing Unit)

The CPU is the brain of the computer. Sometimes referred to simply as the central processor, but more commonly called processor, the CPU is where most calculations take place. In terms of computing power, the CPU is the most important element of a computer system.

MouseA device that controls the movement of the cursor or pointer on a display screen. A mouse is a small object you can roll along a hard, flat surface. Its name is derived from its shape, which looks a bit like a mouse, its connecting wire that one can imagine to be the mouse's tail, and the fact that one must make it scurry along a surface. As you move the mouse, the pointer on the display screen moves in the same direction. Mice contain at least one button and sometimes as many as three, which have different functions depending on what program is running. Some newer mice also include a scroll wheel for scrolling through long documents.

wEbcamWebcams are video capture devices connected to computers or computer networks, often using a USB port or, if they connect to networks, via ethernet or Wi-Fi.Their most popular use is for video telephony, permitting a computer to act as a videophone or video conferencing station. Other popular uses, which include the recording of video files or even still-images, are accessible via numerous software programs, applications and devices. They are well known for their low manufacturing costs and flexibility.
