Heat Pump Technology

Optimisedcoolingandheatingairflow

With Heat pump technology, you can control the temperature of your air conditioned space throughout the entire year whatever the season.

Putting the heat pump system into ‘Auto’ mode takes away the need to put the system in cooling or heating mode, leaving the conditioned room at a comfortable temperature at all times

Inverter technology Inverter systems use variable speed motors for increased efficiency and to heat or cool an area more quickly.

Inverter systems:•Uselessenergythanconventionalairconditioners•Functionquietly,withlownoiseoperation•Heatorcoolareasquickly•Maintaintemperatureswithlowtemperature fluctuations.

Save up to 44% of electricity cost compared to conventional on /off systems.

How do inverter systems work?

Unlike ordinary Conventional air conditioners inverter air conditioners can vary the speed of compressors to control cooling and heating. When indoor temperatures reach desired levels, inverter air conditioners can operate their compressors at low speeds and maintain desired temperatures. This can save up to 44% on energy costs. Compared to ‘on /off’ systems.

Inverter systems vary the ‘speed’ at which the compressor works within the system ensuring a steady and smooth transition from temperature A to temperature B . This places minimal stress on the equipment and results in a quieter and more energy efficient operation.

How quiet are the systems?

The actual sound pressure ratings of the systems vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. However as a rough guide to sound levels:

A typical indoor unit will operate at levels of around 26 db when in its quietest ‘mode’.

Toputthisintocontext:An empty studio is typically around 20 db and a library 40 db. In short modern air conditioning units are quiet.

The outdoor units have anti vibration systems, quiet fan motors and compressors to ensure that they run as quietly as possible.

Your account handler will be able to provide you with the DB ratings of your chosen equipment should you require them.

Enhanced Capital Allowance SchemeThe Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme is a key part of the Government’s programme to manage climate change, and is designed to encourage businesses to invest in energy-saving equipment.

What does the ECA Energy scheme involve?

Theschemeprovidesataxincentivetobusinessesthatinvestin equipment that meets published energy-saving criteria.

The Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme can bring significant financial savings, in the short and long-term, as well as improving a company’s energy-efficiency and its impact on the environment.

Benefits of Modern Air ConditioningHeating - Heat pump air conditioning is an energy efficient means of heating an area. The heat pump air conditioner will maintain a constant temperature regardless of the outside conditions. Provided with a temperature controller the temperature is easily modified and controlled

Cooling - Increased productivity, improved comfort and better general feeling of wellbeing are some of the benefits of maintaining a comfortable temperature during hot summer months.

Cleansing - Modern air conditioners may be provided with advanced air filtration. This results in cleaner air and the removal of smells, and allergens that may produce allergic reactions.

Dehumidifying - When in Cooling mode the air conditioned space is dehumidified. Water content is removed from the air making it easier for the human body’s own cooling system to operate effectively . The result is a more comfortable environment and a better feeling of wellbeing.

The reduced water content in the ambient air also discourages the growth of moulds and the presence of dust mites.

Frequently asked questionsQ. Do I need planning permission?

A. This very much depends on the local authority. We would always recommend that you consult with your local planning dept to avoid any issues.

Q. Is there much drilling?

A. Drilling may be required to mount units on walls and to mount the outdoor units on brackets.

We will always try and keep dust to a minimum and always tidy our work area.

Q. What does an install comprise of?

A. Typical installation comprises of an indoor unit connected by refrigeration grade copper pipe, to an outdoor unit.

Atinstallationaholelargeenoughtoaccommodate2xpipeswith insulation, cable, and condensate drain pipe or hose would need to be drilled.

We recommend that you commission a builder to prepare this and to make good that drilled hole upon completion.

Q. Is the pipework on display?

A. Where possible we will try and ‘hide’ pipework. This may beinasuspendedceiling,orinafloorspace/void.

Whilst we are able to ‘bury’ pipework into walls, a builder would need to be commissioned to chase out the walls.

Q. Do you provide the electrical work?

A. We are able to provide electrical work if required.

Q. What are the electrical requirements?

A. The electrical requirements depend greatly on the type of system used. Possible options would be :

connection to a fused spur. Dedicated supply to the air conditioning system. Where possible we would recommend installing a dedicated supply for the system

Q. How does water drain away ?

A. There are two ways in which the condensate can be drained from the indoor units.

1. Gravity drain. The use of pipe/ hose connected to an existingdrainpointsuchasasinkoutlet

2. Use of a condensate pump. – The pumps we install are veryquietandproducea‘flutter’forasecondorsowhenpumping condensate.

maintain

MaintenancePlanned preventative maintenance should be considered part of any installation project. The F Gas Regulations state that the responsibility for ensuring that a system is operating correctly and not leaking refrigerant resides with the operator / owner of the equipment. Your responsibilities (in brief) are as follows:

•Preventleakage, andrepairanyleaksassoonas possible•Arrangeproperrefrigerantrecoverybycertifiedpersonnel during servicing and disposal•Carryoutleakchecks, ensurethatonlycertified competent personnel carry out these checks•Maintainrecordsofrefrigerantsandofservicing

Acre Solutions Ltd simplifies the job of compliance with the F Gas regulations through competitive maintenance to ensure the efficient operation of your equipment.

Regular maintenance can reduce running costs and increasethelifeexpectancyofyourairconditioningsystem.

air conditioning solutions

Page 21: ACRE General Air Con Brochure

How often should a system be maintained?

The number of maintenance visits to an installation varies based upon the environment in which the air conditioning is installed.

A schedule of two visits minimum is recommended initially, with the situation being assessed at the first visit and recommendations made accordingly

To simplify the process of regularly maintaining your system Acre Solutions Ltd manages the whole process, intervals etc and payments through a monthly direct debit.
