> 29 per cent of adults mobile phone voice calls:> 21 per cent respectively 18–24 year-olds and persons 65+ > 34 per cent for persons aged 45–54

Age and intensity of online participation

> Significant growth in intensity of online participation across all age groups in Australia during the period June 2008–June 2013.

> Still sizeable age differences in terms of the number of activities performed online still evident.

> During June 2013:> 70 per cent of internet users aged 25–34 undertook 5 or

more activities online during the period (the most intensive online participants).

> 2nd most ‘intensive’ online participants, internet users aged 18–24 with 60 per cent undertaking 5 or more activities online.

> In comparison, 32 per cent of internet uses aged 65+ undertook 5 or more activities online.

Which groups are driving growth in take-up of professional online video content services?

> In six months to May 2013, 7.86 million people (aged 18 years+) were estimated to have used a OVC service, up 52 per cent from the six months to May 2013.

> 1.94 million people (aged 18 years+) used video on demand services:> 14 per cent of these people were aged 18–24> 48 per cent of these people were 25–44> 33 per cent were 45–64.

> 6.69 million people used an online catch-up TV service > 14 per cent of these were aged 18–24> 45 per cent of these people were 25–44> 31 per cent were 45–64.
